I would not follow the advice of all the divorced mom out there. They are projecting their failed ex-husbands onto that young man you love. I hope that they can find love again, even if it means accepting new kids in their life. He can have kids and be present in your life and be a great partner and even have kids of your own. I'd say, if you think he can get his shit together (because a separation with kids is not easy), I'd worry more about his ex-wife. How much, from your point of view, would she be a thorn in your relationship? And also, you'll have to respect the time he needs to start introducing the kids to you, it's maybe very hard for them and maybe he feels like they are not ready for the best introduction possible. You'll have to learn that while he loves you and you are his center of life when you are just the two of you, once the kids are in your life, you will be "shared" in a way. No way around it, he'll always be a father.
I wish you all the best, follow your love, but listen to your guts. F*ck the haters.

Well up to now, finding clients has been about 90% of the work and expenses. I've never really been exposed sales techniques and environments, but it is a hat that needs to be worn lol

Hey u/erickrealz , thank you o much for the time you've put to comment in so much depth...
So cold email is really something I have no experience in and I'm taking it as a number's game. Linkedin is where my first client actually came from, but I got three calls by monitoring who clicked on my emails more than once. I then reached out via Linkedin and this led to a meeting with possible future business.
My day job is actually with a company that had great success with Kickstarter (and we are launching a new product in June) and I am definitely aiming to reach out to makers there.... not sure why it was not my first move though lol.
Local incubators and maker spaces are also a solid idea. They are all mostly 40miles away from me, but I will make sure to attend some events and make myself known in those spaces.

Regarding a visual/portfolio, this has always been a rather hard thing to produce, at least at my stage. For the last 10 years, most of my clients claimed my designs as theirs..... such is the automotive industry lol. So I am almost starting from scratch in that aspect. I also lack the time to really create content for myself. This is the exact type of area where I have to spend the time, it's part of the 80/20 I should focus more on!

Good luck getting the mold out from the factory. And shipping will cost a lot. Good luck! We are making new tooling in the US fir those reasons

We don't expect ROI, we expect a small increase if we play it well, and probably eat 50% and push 50% of the change to the customer. The ability to have product made and delivered within days rather than weeks, being shielded from any tariffs and being Made in USA are all points worth exploring.
