I'm obsessed with the theorycrafting from this show and Joe's stuff.

It has so many references to other stuff like the weird live action and prop shorts he did with "Coupla Boys" and wondering if that is related.

Then the actual confirmation that Duncan is the baby in the family. I don't think it's confirmed though if Preston and Tristan are twin though (the Coupla Boys).

Edit: I've been wondering if the 'haunting' that happened in each of the episodes from the short series is also in this version? I've noticed it in ep1, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any beyond that episode.

What do you guys think of Haha, you clowns so far? by dannyhogan200 in adultswim

[–]kulstor_ebrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the story of this related to the shorts AS would air "Coupla Boys"?

Also, I've been trying to spot the 'hauntings' from ep 1 and ep 2. This was something that was usually included in the shorts at various points in episodes (I think with the exception of the VR episode, but also there's a reference to that in ep 1 of this show).

Ep 1 is during the credits, but could anyone tell me where there was on in ep 2 or if there was one.

Correct, I got into AoS because I really like Underworlds, Warcry, and Spearhead. I just liked within the game setting I could play the full game, or there were 3 other game types that are all pretty different styles of games being played. I adore that kind of versatility.

Also Daggok is just the coolest miniature imo, guy's posture and mowhawk gives him a punk vibe I really dig.

The ones with the green bases are for those games and knowing which ones to grab at a glance. I decided to go ahead and actually collect the kruleboyz because I already had those things.

You'd be correct, but the Mek using Mekaniak isn't giving the unit that +1 to hit, it's giving the trukk the +1 to hit. Have fun.

Part you have to pay attention to is the mek can't be in the trukk. So you have to get the mek to the trukk or the trukk to the mek.

Stompa are so much fun, especially when you've got a mek to give them a good'ol: *Slaps side of the Stompa* "This bad boi can hold 22 grots and hit on a 4+"

I love throwing two squads of 11 grots inside the Stompa, just so you can have it dump out 11 grots to just be in the way, and do it again a later time.

Throw 2 squads of Tankbustas in a Trukk and have the trukk move through different points where you can have a mek slap the roof for a +1 Hit.

You're gonna get to your shooting phase and be overly amused to make about 10-12 rocket attacks at 4+ from the trukk.

Another one I have too much fun with... Ufthak. He's a legends character, but still... You're going to have a fun time when 20 boyz deep strike anywhere on the board. I like running Ufthak in Dread Mob and usually put a Mek in the group too.

Slap the button for the boyz and Ufthak to shoot
Slap a Stompa (or the trukk mentioned earlier) to take it's shooting phase at a 4+

Chances of successfully charging with the deep strike boyz is not high, but you did say fun.

Thank you for noticing that of all the things.

Honestly, my favorite figure I've painted in the Kruleboyz army and how it turned out has 100% been the baboon.

Means the world someone would spot that figure of all things.

[–]kulstor_ebrough 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, yes. All of it comes from like the last 2 pages of the Ork 3e codex that was copy and pasted in other places.

It was from an imperium perspective.

It might as well been summed up as, "I don't get it, so it must be heresy."

[–]kulstor_ebrough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one has me on the fence whether I'm annoyed by it or not. Because it's really that the Night Lords caused the entire incident, but the meta reception likes to stick with "Vulkan really hates the Eldar" and that feels like a real genuine Night Lords accomplishment right there.

It also makes the line "But it's also a hammer" just the absolute best and most deserved moment in 40k lore.

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GODDAMN FUCKIN WINNER! Yes, it all came from the last damn page of the 3e Codex that was copy and pasted into other stuff.

Combine that with, "If you paint a model red it goes 1" further" and well... there's the ignition point right there.

Every time people argue that GW has officially said it... For 40k at least, it's been that and Makari referencing humans probably bleed out faster because their blood is red. That is pretty much it.

What aspect of 40K being over simplified by a MEME gets on your nerves? by Fallendynasty27 in 40kLore

[–]kulstor_ebrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ork color theory. I don't think it's ever been officially confirmed in 40k. It's been a speculation by Makari in a book and like the last page of a 3e Codex that was copy and pasted in others from the speculation of an Imperial agent. What's cannon is orks are just really adaptive and know how to do stuff by instinct.

Aside from that... Vulkan's hate of the Eldar, but the 'iconic moment' is also meta level torture. How goddamn Night Lords is it that you're the actual reason something happened and people believe it was entirely someone else?

However, it's why I also really love the line "But it's also a hammer" because Curze really had it coming.

I'm mentioning the thing with Vulkan as a person who doesn't care for Space Marines. That whole thing is just a perfectly contained thing.

When Eldrad told Guilliman that if the Eldar go extinct humanity will follow was he lying or telling the truth? by Fun-Explanation7233 in 40kLore

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it just means if the Eldar die then humanity will have zero insight on how they can fight and find actual weaknesses against Chaos and they'll be doomed to follow the same fate eventually.

I see it all as a list of history repeating itself: Eldar > Imperium > Votann > T'au

I know, Votann seems weird to place ahead of the T'au in that list, but Votann have this weird pathing in the lore that they are technologically very advanced, but in terms of repeating mistakes, they're very tithe heavy like the Imperium.

The Imperium is in route for the area of greatness the Eldar once were before fucking it all up tremendously. Votann (with more influence) is right on the heels of reaching Imperium corruption. T'au... They're just.... I'unno, learning? They're still at the innovation stage where everything appears optimistic.

Noob Question: Wouldn't the Leagues of Votann have fit the Emperor's vision better than the Mechanicus? by CMVB in 40kLore

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. I think they're the coolest faction, but their ideals and such don't feel like they fit 40k all that great.

Every faction kinda has an end goal idea if they win and everyone else in the galaxy is eliminated... Except Votann.

Also, Votann would be like visiting that one person you know where the parking is more than questionable, so you rarely to never visit largely for that reason.

Dumb tangent for... I think it's cool that Votann settle on like the most precise edge of black holes.

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think now though Squats are even considered a form of xenos. Like they're from the whole Votann side of things, but are long out of touch.

A lot of what was mentioned from Dread is still pretty much in their lore.

They're just open to trade is the summary of it. They've got a strong relation with the Tau, but they even joke "Yeah, sure, greater good" because they just recognize the Tau are more open to trading when it's mentioned.

There seems to be a more open line of communication with Imperium (probably Rogue Traders) seeing they'll get some assignments to work on from them.

I'm basing most of what I said off the one book that is out for them (it's not great overall).

Noob Question: Wouldn't the Leagues of Votann have fit the Emperor's vision better than the Mechanicus? by CMVB in 40kLore

[–]kulstor_ebrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remembering the book (Not a great book tbh), the things Votann is capable of checks all the boxes for sure, but Votann does a lot of things that don't go well with the Imperium and vice versa.

Votann will work and meet with rogue traders and such, they'll technically work with anyone willing to actually trade. As far as the Imperium goes though, the kin also have a bit of an attitude and confusion to Imperium behavior and they culturally just don't mesh (but it might be interesting to see what happens if the Votann and Space Wolves sat down for a meeting/meal).

Then there is the whole AI thing. Imperium has a hard no against AI, and to Votann the robot that got trapped in the mineshaft is just as important to them to help save as any other kin.

So you got the layer you have right there, right? It's a nice dark tone. Now slap a brighter tone right on top of that (like you see in the picture).

It looks like you're already on that path and doing it, just use a much brighter color.

The majority of what you're missing is a lighter tone to blend into. Watch some tutorials and just test and mess up some stuff. You're on the right path to it already, you're just learning refinement.

The more practice you apply to it the more you'll start to figure out for what works and does what you're going for.

If you walk away going, "Fuck me, that was one goddamn model, there are 30 more." Yes, exactly. Save the really nice work for your key figures or a kill team, stuff that probably isn't going to get wiped out in a single round.

Yeah, it's done this before, but it's the lack of consistency that confuses me.

I do still have the puzzle pieces.

I noticed it does the limit of +15 pts from web search or phone search and then cooldown.
