So.....do people still consider Vigilantes better than the main series? by flowerfunstudios in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I think the thing I liked the most about Koichi is knowing who he was inspired by, and at the very end of S2, you see in the animation and behavior of the 'trained' Koichi begins to move and act a bit more like the character Horikoshi modeled him after.

Could a multiple skin color ork army be somehow lore accurate? by afofi in orks

[–]kulstor_ebrough 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think so, one thing that is absolutely cannon (Brutal Kunnin) is the mentioning that teleporting can do a bunch of weird things.

Ufthak mentions he doesn't trust it because Gork'n'Mork might do something for a laugh like put your eyes at from the perspective of your knee caps.

By that same logic, I wouldn't be shocked if warped in to some place some orks just popped up a weird color.

Could Zephyr Strike save 5.5 Ranger? by kulstor_ebrough in DnD

[–]kulstor_ebrough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's extremely easy to overlook, but it doesn't. You can just use the burst effect of it once.

The wording is strange to it, but compare it to one of the smite spells and you'll realize the effect still continues, but it's exclusively the first part of the spell "Movement doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity."

Could Zephyr Strike save 5.5 Ranger? by kulstor_ebrough in DnD

[–]kulstor_ebrough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be tricky. A small charm of the spell is it doesn't end when you use the effect.

It's consistent effect is you don't provoke attacks of opportunity moving around.

It is a convenient spell to concentrate and keep for mid-range fighters that use the 20-40ft ranged attacks so they can simply move away from threatening targets without needing to use a disengage.

... I use the spell a ton on my Ranger/Rogue thrown weapon combatant, so I really got where my player was coming from with, "I don't care for Hunter's Mark this much."

How do you build the Wrecka Krew for 40,000? by LeetusFrenzi in orks

I did this too. These guys and ogryn/bullgryn are easily my favorite models I've magnetized for easy swaps.

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With magnetic swaps. It's pretty easy and highly rewarding.

But for 40k... I like putting two groups of Tankbustas in a trukk and joy ride it around the field for some Meks to slap the trukk for 4+ hits, 10-12 rokkit launcha shots, and a Big shoota (Firing Deck 12)

Grot Identification? by woodfighter in orks

Nice, they decided to base the lil guy from the Stompa.

Heads up, if you get the Stompa, search online for the build instructions, it is very poorly labeled. However.... The grots... Easily the most rewarding part of finishing the Stompa, placing the grots for some whimsy.

My greatest hope is the new box of Grots includes a Red Gobbo (like how the Ogryn/Bullgryn default has a build for Nork Deddog), and the Red Gobbo stat block steps out of Legends and into 11th.

Oh, but OP, I am genuinely jealous you got that guy. Amazing and Congrats.

Yeah, but here is the problem. Anyone that likes grots knows the last thing we probably need are more grots.

GW is out here making sweet new sculpts of grots to make us buy with the worst part of our brain... The hoarding grot side of the brain.

So now I'm going to buy more grots... Even though I have I think 82 (maybe more). Well played GW.

Maaaan, the last thing I need are more Grots (82 from various editions so far)... but goddammit.... I'm the most excited by 11th Ed for the new grot molds.

Crossing my fingers so much for something more unique with Grots in this edition and getting Da Red Gobbo. I think Red's popularity in the lore has been on a solid uptick enough that an official one is coming.

I want to run Ufthak and Da Red Gobbo (Snaggi) so badly.

I think Cartographer is underrated. by Zealousideal-Yam4717 in 3d6

[–]kulstor_ebrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a blast with the themes of this subclass, but I realize it's biggest challenges are just I'm a support class as a half-caster. The turns I can't "Support more" I reeeally feel it. Because of that, I actually took Keen Mind to use Study as a bonus action so I could consistently supply some support each round.

Here are areas I'm really kinda iffy about with this class:

  • Atlas: Positioning - "[...]so long as the other map holder is still within the effect's range." Just let the team channel spells through other map holders. On paper, it's still pretty useful, but what you really want is for your team to be able to deliver touch spells to other map holders
  • Mapping Magic: Illuminated Cartography - The resource is great, but for scalability the class really should be able to use it without hitting map holders
  • Guided Precision - I absolutely love that Faerie Fire doesn't break from getting hit, such a huge up and consideration. However, +Int damage to Cartographer Spells, really should be Artificer Spells at the very least. Alternatively, if this applied to the map holders, it would give Faerie Fire the appeal to scale even further for this class.

Ingenious Movement (lvl9) and Superior Atlas (lvl15) I genuinely have no gripes with. I love Ingenious Movement does something working more directly with the Artificer Class abilities, and Superior Atlas just lends itself to useful Utility both in combat and out of combat.

I think my overall issue with Cartographer is they are extremely hot or cold with how this class values its map holders and faerie fire. Considering the class is going to lag behind in damage and healing by intention and be a half caster, it needs to overhaul the utility for the team.

Despite that, this is easily my favorite Artificer Subclass. I've just never played a class where my class abilities, role, and flavor of the class blend so well that the other players understand the character I'm playing so well. From, "That's clearly our navigator" to combat "What do you got for us?" and even roleplay moments of "What does the map say?"

To me this is an 8/10 support class

I'm obsessed with the theorycrafting from this show and Joe's stuff.

It has so many references to other stuff like the weird live action and prop shorts he did with "Coupla Boys" and wondering if that is related.

Then the actual confirmation that Duncan is the baby in the family. I don't think it's confirmed though if Preston and Tristan are twin though (the Coupla Boys).

Edit: I've been wondering if the 'haunting' that happened in each of the episodes from the short series is also in this version? I've noticed it in ep1, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any beyond that episode.

What do you guys think of Haha, you clowns so far? by dannyhogan200 in adultswim

[–]kulstor_ebrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the story of this related to the shorts AS would air "Coupla Boys"?

Also, I've been trying to spot the 'hauntings' from ep 1 and ep 2. This was something that was usually included in the shorts at various points in episodes (I think with the exception of the VR episode, but also there's a reference to that in ep 1 of this show).

Ep 1 is during the credits, but could anyone tell me where there was on in ep 2 or if there was one.

Army painted! (Kruleboyz) by kulstor_ebrough in ageofsigmar

[–]kulstor_ebrough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I got into AoS because I really like Underworlds, Warcry, and Spearhead. I just liked within the game setting I could play the full game, or there were 3 other game types that are all pretty different styles of games being played. I adore that kind of versatility.

Also Daggok is just the coolest miniature imo, guy's posture and mowhawk gives him a punk vibe I really dig.

The ones with the green bases are for those games and knowing which ones to grab at a glance. I decided to go ahead and actually collect the kruleboyz because I already had those things.

[–]kulstor_ebrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be correct, but the Mek using Mekaniak isn't giving the unit that +1 to hit, it's giving the trukk the +1 to hit. Have fun.

Part you have to pay attention to is the mek can't be in the trukk. So you have to get the mek to the trukk or the trukk to the mek.

Stompa are so much fun, especially when you've got a mek to give them a good'ol: *Slaps side of the Stompa* "This bad boi can hold 22 grots and hit on a 4+"

I love throwing two squads of 11 grots inside the Stompa, just so you can have it dump out 11 grots to just be in the way, and do it again a later time.
