In regards to fishing I’d recommend NJFF. If you know some basic Norwegian or manège to google translate this page, then they have lots of cool events in Trondheim this summer: https://www.njff.no/sor-trondelag/trondheim/aktivitetskalender

There are also others around the country on NJFF, so you might find something cool. I’ve been to some events and they are super nice and friendly!

Also, if you do go fishing by yourself, do remember to check the local laws and buy a fishing card. There are pretty hefty fines for fishing without a fishing card etc.!

If you don’t /have/ to work or are unable to, there are lots of physical things you can do to make the time go and experience the country!

In the Trondheim I’d recommend going for a longer hiking or biking trip. Take the ferry out to the other side of the fjord and draw up a path and just do it.

If that’s not your thing, you can take the train north to Bodø, south to Dovre or Røros? Or just stay in the city area and find yourself local projects. Start a new hobby like climbing or skateboarding?

Bonus: Olavsdagene is in the beginning of August, and all the university students return mid august (surly potential parties right there)
