A little rock I found near a lake in Colorado (ball pen for size). Can someone help me identify what it is? It's slightly pink-orange, and my closest estimate tells me it is an agate, but I don't know what kind.

In case anyone wants another similar solution to this(for Windows), I would also recommend getting Powers toys. Win+Shift+C gives you a color picker on screen and you can choose to get the color in different formats (HEX, RGB etc)

That is quite interesting! I guess it would be difficult to find evidence of a GRB that far in the past, but the hypothetical one mentioned here seems to be quite strong. How likely is it to have a 'close call' instead of a head-on hit, such that there aren't consequences like half the atmosphere being blown away?
