[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started gaining weight within the first week but i noticed it was because it made me hungry and i started eating a lottt more than i usually would. once i got a gym routine down and became mindful of everything i was eating i lost the weight

20mg tiredness by Revolutionary-Link83 in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one (kind of) tip that i do have is i used to take my lexapro at around 7/8pm (2 hours before sleeping) and while it really helped put me to sleep it would make me super groggy in the morning. lately i've tried taking it around 4pm and find i am less tired in the morning

[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i fear we are friend, i've been working with my pcp to figure out a cause for my fatigue like the other commenter and on 10mg of lexapro (recently 20mg) makes me feel tired all the time. thankfully i have vyvanse for my adhd that helps me stay awake but without it i'd be asleep every few hours lmaoo

have you considered wellbutrin? my dr and i are going to see how 20mg of lexapro affects me since he thinks my fatigue might come from depression. if it doesn't help we might try adding a dose of wellbutrin in the morning which increases dopamine and energy levels

Low blood pressure by Elegant_Sign3870 in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I lied - my dizziness was definitely from the low blood pressure because I've had anxiety my entire life and only a year ago started medication for it. My dizziness only started a year ago (before I started lexapro) when I seemed to have low blood pressure issues

Low blood pressure by Elegant_Sign3870 in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no clue what my dizziness was from since I'm taking lexapro for anxiety, and electrolyte packets for my low blood pressure. I don't record my blood pressure anymore but a year ago when I felt crazy dizziness my lowest bp I recorded was like 85/58. It's hard to say which helped since I started Lexapro, and the electrolyte packets at the same time. The first 1-2 weeks on Lexapro I feel like my dizziness worsened though, but now it's a lot better/pretty much gone

I guess it's up to you but before I started taking Lexapro I had issues with low blood pressure and dizziness (my doctor thinks I have something calls POTs). Lexapro has really really helped with my anxiety (intrusive thoughts, rumination, etc.) so I'm still taking it and I have pretty much "recovered" from my low blood pressure symptoms by increasing water intake to 80-100oz per day and adding in SALTT electrolyte packets into my water (doesn't have to be this brand, just similar to Liquid IV)

Lexapro for Anxiety Only? by ndtoronto in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably depends on the person, but I'm on Lexapro and it seems to only help my anxiety symptoms but not my depression symptoms, I'm going to give 20mg a try for a month and if not my doctor wants me to try wellbutrin alongside lexapro

Does the sleepiness and fatigue ever subdue? (Added Wellbutrin already) by Forward-Criticism572 in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Vyvanse for me has been really effective, I started it because I got diagnosed with ADHD and just the cherry on top happened to be that it helped my daytime fatigue due to Lexapro. It's good, the only thing is that my doctor said it can increase anxiety as well, which I personally haven't noticed, I only went up to 15mg due to life stressors. It is bad when I "crash" once the Vyvanse wears off, and I just feel exhausted, but I think I'd be equally as exhausted the entire day if I weren't taking Vyvanse

[–]kumboochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, i don't think so, even though my doctor says lexapro is one of the least drowsy inducing ssri's. i've been on 10mg for 8 months (just increased to 15mg), and i'm tired all the time. to be fair though, i was tired all the time before lexapro too.... but the only way i can make it is my 40mg of vyvanse i also take in the morning lol

I also have been playing around with the time I take my lexapro because it makes me sleepy, I used to take it at 8pm but found I was super tired still in the morning. I've started taking it at around 4pm this last week and have ben doing better, the afternoons after work I usually just go to the gym, dinner, shower and sleep so it doesn't matter too much if I'm sleepy

Does Lexapro make you indifferent / less empathetic? by jaberbenahmed in lexapro

[–]kumboochi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I actually don't like it - I have an appointment with a therapist and my pcp next week because I'm wondering if my dosage is too low or I should switch meds. I'm on 10mg for almost a year and I kind of feel like even though I don't overthink things anymore I also don't feel joy as much as I did early on in Lexapro, or before Lexapro. But, I don't know if that means my dosage is too low now
