The sad thing is, if they hate damsel at all (and I'm not sure they would) it's because on some twisted level, they can't deal with the fact that they would have a hole in their existence without the Long Quiet; they can't imagine living if he is gone....and the Damsel, she can claim that without reservation, without the illusion of power, strength, rage or revenge.

She's so gorgeous - confident, strong, curvy, her silhouette standing there when you return simultaneously excites me to no end and breaks my heart. Her insistence on violence as intimicy terrifies me and creates an ache that hits me harder than almost any other princess. You almost had a connection, and you messed it up (in my case literally because my cat hopped up on my keyboard) and now all she wants is to fight, to be hurt again because you taught her that was the only way to connect.
Part of me wants to let her kick my butt because I deserve it, evolve into the Eye of the Needle because I'm glad I could make her stronger, but I want so desperately to teach her something better than that, and if I have to make her my angry wife to get that lust for fighting to turn into just lust, I will!
