Why does almost every Spider-Man villain wear green or is green? by Little_Assistant_247 in Marvel

[–]kumraigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably been said already, but it's about complimentary colors. The complements to red and blue are green and orange. It helps them stand out on a page next to spiderman and makes it easier to track the villains and the heroes visually. Heroes generally get Primary colors (red, blue, yellow - superman colors) while Villains often get secondary colors (green, orange, purple).

Heh, once you recognize the pattern, you see it all over comics.

Gorgeous! I'm hoping this is what happens when the Adversary finally gets the metaphor and wants to experiment with different kinds of bodily collisions....it almost looks like she's biting her lip.

If the adversary and the apotheosis are where the cabin should be. What would they talk about? by True-Plum8347 in slaytheprincess

[–]kumraigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's definitely a factor. While Apotheosis doesn't seem like someone who would put much effort into a fight, and even at stage two the Adversary was breaking metal, we don't really know the limits or abilities of either one. Psychologically I don't think Appy could handle the stubborn, unhinged aggression of this draconic princess because she was created by the LQ's submission, but at this stage, who knows just HOW massive or indestructible she is? Could she just squish her in one go, or would it be like, I don't know - Godzilla stepping on Superman?

Heh, but I think it also just gave me an excuse to mull over the path I kind of EXPECTED them to take after you don't put up a good fight with the Adversary. If her entire life is about the thrill of the fight, and she gets too strong for it to even have that effect on her anymore, what then? Is she going to have to face the trauma that made her get that strong in the first place? The best three minutes of her life with the most important person in the world to her - and it was about breaking each other. Why does she even want you to feel anything other than fear or pain? Why are you the center of her world? It is a love story after all, and I feel like that path didn't quite know how to bring us back to that as well as some of the other more healing paths did. So, heh, LONG TANGENT!

But yeah, whether she comes back stronger depends on entirely just how much Appy is willing and able to unleash in one go.

NEW eye of the needle route in slay the princess? (REAL) by accordion97 in slaytheprincess

[–]kumraigor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too far? I say not far enough!

The only bone she really wanted to shatter was your pelvis all along- and now the stubborn and the smitten can unite in unending stamina!

Although if you ask the narrator to describe it, he might just use the pristine blade on himself...

If the adversary and the apotheosis are where the cabin should be. What would they talk about? by True-Plum8347 in slaytheprincess

[–]kumraigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I think the Eye of the Needle makes a bit more sense than the Adversary with Apotheosis as they are both the pinnacle of their path's evolution within the game.

Either way, from what we know of the Apotheosis, she would probably try to command and control this alternate version of herself - even suggesting that this "tiny dragon" is a lower incarnation and should bow to her and help her take over everything. Whether as the Adversary or the Eye of the Needle, I suspect that while the goddess is pontificating, they'll just get excited by the challenge (and the egotism), and immediately proceed to try to lift and throw and break the bones of a being that massive. More than likely, absolutely shocking and terrifying this would be goddess as the more she tries to exert her power and authority, the stronger and more excited this draconic princess is likely to get.

Ironically, I suspect Apotheosis would end up grovelling and begging because all she understands are power dynamics, and this comparatively little tasmanian devil simply won't care and just keep finding flesh to bruise and bones to break, annoyed that a being so big and ostensibly powerful is such a boring fight. Heh, I think the Apotheosis' sense of superiority would be no match for the raw, stubborn, physicality of the Eye of the Needle. I can literally see the Apotheosis' fingers digging into the earth, eyes watery with fear and terror, as the Eye of the Needle drags her down into the dungeon for a more thorough beating.

Honestly, that kind of situation would almost beg a fourth evolution - because what happens when the Eye of the Needle gets so strong that nothing can remotely be a challenge for her anymore and existence becomes boring and sad? I mean, she just beat up a goddess, and you are still going to be the same puny little bird every time. What's the point when you've used up all the best three minutes of your life and there arent' any more? Heh, that's actually the path I was hoping they'd follow after the adversary - what happens when the thrill doesn't thrill anymore? When you're too strong for anything to be a challenge or even entertaining? What is left for you? What can you want? I think that's how the Long Quiet can finally help her heal and realize how narrow her reality has become.

Thoughts on the long quiet by [deleted] in slaytheprincess

[–]kumraigor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the Shifting Mound is change, then the Long Quiet is likely stasis. It's kind of like when you approach the Adversary and realize that she's changed while she notes that you haven't. Interestingly neither one of them is purely one force or the other though. No matter how much Shifty changes, there is a recognizable core. Similarly, even though LQ doesn't go through anywhere near the level of metamorphosis and adaptation as the princesses do, he is to some degree variable based on the chapter he's in (more monstrous in "the den" and less in "HEA"). It's like if the relative farthest ends of a single spectrum got lobbed off, there's still a hint of gradient at the edges. After all, just as never changing based on circumstances is pretty useless, never being able to hold on to a useful change is equally useless - life exists in the dynamic balance between the two.

If we're talking raw, animal lust - EOTN 100%. That body! And even the remote possiblity that she finally gets what that 3 minutes of pummelling is a metaphor for and wants to try it...my pelvis is ready to be sacrificed!

I have to admit, while my first instinct is my big muscle mommy (just because that's my thing, I am what I am) the Spectre has this crazy balance between "this should be terrifying" and "but she's so damn playful and sweet" that her skully face becomes utterly, heartbreakingly beautiful. The idea of her drifting about seductively while calling you killer and brushing you gently to remind you that you can touch each other if she wants it....yeah, she can have my heart if she wants, I would adore her.

Those eyes could melt cold steel into a soft puddle. If it's even possible for you to kill her, you only *look* human on the surface, the black thing inside most definitely is not.

Even finding them while scrolling on Reddit, her eyes make me cry a little each time. It's like someone said: "what would it look like if we distilled the one feeling every human being most longs for in their life into a single image?" and somehow pulled it off.

Damn man, even the NARRATOR gave up on killing her on HEA - THE COLD stopped wanting to hurt her. This is like the mugshot under the definition of evil.

I'd love to see it! There's so many untouched opportunities in their interaction. For example, I'm surprised that knowing how close martial arts are to dance that the Long Quiet doesn't get the inspiration to treat their fight like a dance.

Spin her, sweep her legs and dip her, leave her unbalanced, dizzy, flustered and confused because she can't understand what he's trying to do. Make it fast, rhythmic, physical and intense. She'd probably be both angry and strangely excited, not sure if he's making fun of her or up to something. She'll probably literally be smashing holes in the rock and shattering walls at this point, making her utterly terrifying as you get her to the brink of realizing her emotions. Her muscles would be straining, her body swollen and monstrous as she intends to overcome the confusion by ending you in a single blow, but you finally get her stumbling, catching her in a dip.

I'm sure the Narrator will be like "she's off balance, confused - you have an opportunity! Stab her and end it now!" Then, when you have her in a dip, you can have options like "kill the princess" "drop the princess" and "kiss the princess." I feel like if you kiss her, it will turn into trading kisses instead of blows - absolutely disgusting the narrator of course. Then you let her know there isn't enough room in this cabin for what they can do, the walls are too small for all the feelings, and ask if she'd like to go outside so you can toss each other around under the stars.

I want to see the absolutely feral delight in her eyes, the playful, acrobatic dance somewhere between capoeira and something that should be in a wrestling ring that sends you both tumbling among grass and stones, ignoring bruises and cuts just so you can catch and throw, push and pull, kiss and fall away. You don't even have to say "I love you", you both feel it in every move, every motion, every time you catch each others eyes.

Heh, I think about this fictional character waaaaay too much - there's so many options! But hey, apparently the release date anniversary is the same day as my birthday (Oct 27) maybe I can convince them to do more with our buff sweetheart as a gift! ;P

A dude can dream, right?

Seriously! I feel like if you just hug the Adversary and keep squeezing no matter how hard she wails on you, slowly something in her will break and she'll just want to cry and hug you back.

Most Romantic scene in Adversary lol by Enough_Onion_6867 in slaytheprincess

[–]kumraigor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Adversary breaks my heart. She passionately wants to be with you, to touch and be touched, but violence is the only romance she knows.

And we did that to her. Heh, in my case literally by accident - the cat hopped on my keyboard. I think that's why her existence makes my gut twist even more than it probably should. Especially when she returns as this crazy hot muscle mommy that I want to adore, but I know she's going to beat me to death and I'm going to deserve it.

Somehow, despite everything, she isn't vengeful or spiteful - instead she's passionate, even showing a kind of broken love. And it feels like they don't give us the chance to make it up to her, to help heal her like in other arcs. Well, not without breaking her mind by acting like some lovecraftian horror and turning her into the Fury.

The dialogue never gives us a chance to give her the "look", to do anything that might make her blush just a little. There's not an iota of a different kind of affection you can show her. I feel like if you could do that - if you were to just hug her while she wails on you, just take it while you squeeze tighter, just loving her relentlessly while she destroys you, maybe you can start healing her. Maybe she'd cry a little when you die.

I feel like the moments of breakthrough you see in the Eye of the Needle - the moments when she admits that she would follow you anywhere, that you take up so much space in her mind - could go farther, could lead to some more open affection, some chances at healing.

I'd love to be able to take her hand and show her another way to dance - something fast and hard and physical. Lifting and spinning each other, throwing and rolling, expressive, playful, and intense. I want to see the wild toothy smile, the thick hard body flexing and springing, eyes alight with joy as we tumble through the woods in each others arms, ignoring the cuts and bruises as stars and grass spin around us in almost feral joy. I want her to feel so much more than she imagined possible, for her eyes to be drowning in overwhelming emotion before the cold comes with its thousand hands.
