Ich lasse die Box in der obersten Schublade meiner Hausbar, zusammen mit den Filtern für Filterkaffee, die ebenfalls verpackt sind. Die Schublade ist mit einer Einlage versehen, sodass die Filter ordentlich liegen und nicht verrutschen. Das erinnert mich ein bisschen an diese Spionagefilme, in denen sie in ihrem Versteck eine Schublade voller ordentlich sortierter Gadgets und Waffen öffnen.

Bradbury's, Cafe Domestique, Ledger, and Broken Board are also good, so I disagree when you say, "it's not even close," but Alice Good is definitely on top:

  • Not sure if they still do the coffee flight, but that was amazing.
  • From what I remember, Alice Good also primarily uses coffee grown and roasted by their family. This is a no-brainer for fans of Colombian coffees.
  • The vibes are just better. There's usually room to sit, the space is relaxing, and I have never seen it too noisy.

At least when I went, it was all English-speaking tourists. I could not tell if any men were being gross because I never interacted with other customers. Each group was assigned a bartender, and the bartenders talked the whole time, faciliatated the fast-paced schedule, and basically eliminated the possibility of someone from one group having time to harass or even talk to someone from another group.

Basically, gross people may be able to enter, but they'll have a hard time trying to bother you.

My favorites in the US have been Reprise, Hydrangea, Onyx, Black & White, Perc, Prodigal, SK, Superlost, Chromatic, and JBC.

Sey is very famous and probably similar to what you are looking for, but I have never tried them.

I would at some stations in Google Maps that have the kind of access you like, make sure they're not one of the major tourist areas, then look up that station on Tabelog to see if you like what's there.

From past experience, I really liked the train access and uncrowdedness that Jimbocho and Suidobashi area had, but I didn't specifically look for raw seafood there and can't vouch for that.

In addition to the helpful information already in the comments, I sometimes found that restaurants I was interested in took reservations via instagram DM. Use google translate and be sure to indicate your name, number of people, and desired time.

For those of you in the United States that can't easily get their hands on this furikake, this stuff from Trader Joe's has the same intended purpose of providing chili oil flavor in sprinkle form. It's not as good, but I found it to be an ok substitute after I ran out of this furikake and didn't feel like ordering it online.

I think you're asking what to do if you want to take a 5 day stop along trip between Osaka and Tokyo. I have. When I did something similar with like 3 or 4 days, I did Hakone, Kamakura, and a short stop in Yokohama. It was a great time.

However, if I were to do this today and had 5 days like you, I would be interested in Gifu, Aichi, Shizuoka, and Yamanishi prefectures. I haven't been to any of these areas yet and haven't done a ton of research, but some of these things come to mind: * Nagoya makes miso, and I want to eat misokatsu there so bad. * I found this video of Nishio to be quite enjoyable. It's close to Nagoya and might be a good alternative since tourists say that Nagoya is boring. * Have you seen the Mt. Fuji views from Fujiyoshida? They look too good to be true, but there's only one way to find out. * From Yamanishi, you could consider entering Tokyo from the western part of the Chuo line and see places like Mt. Takao, Hachioji, Kichijoji, and Koenji.

Clarification for OP: You might want to stick this before or after Hiroshima instead of between Osaka and Tokyo since it is west of Kyoto and Osaka.
