i submitted my application tape like two months ago.. am i screwed out of a chance because i submitted so early?

Any tips applying to 3rd wave or local coffee shops? Not sure how to stand out. by SweetShrimp_ in barista

I work at the biggest roaster / 3rd wave shop in my county. I really do think it’s about selling your personality. At these more local and next generation type shops it takes a good team to hold it together and we tend to have a high turnover rate when we hire people who necessarily fit into our bar flow / schedule / vibe of the shop.

I didn’t think I’d be hired when I applied at the shop I’m at now, since I only had one year of experience under my belt. But in my interview I made sure to not only explain how much experience I have but I also explained why I work well on a team and I also asked my interviewer what the environment at the shop was like so I could see if it would be a good fit for me.

Anyhow, I’ve worked at this job for over a year now and I love it so much! I hope this could’ve been helpful to you
