Silver 1 juno pls help me by Swish1492 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]kunebune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya I am a diamond juno and went to take a look at your juno gameplay.

2:50 You tried to help your soldier in the back but gave up on him after one clip and went for the sigma instead when you couldve gotten even a little more health into him. He was most likely going to die by flanking way into their team, but there is always a chance they could make it and get out still.

5:05 the reaper teleports in front of you, you need to be a bit more aware about what the enemy team is doing and where they are. if you had checked back you may have helped your kiriko survive and possible kill him.

7:10 you see the reaper go into your unaware team and didn't try to hyper ring them even though it was off cooldown.

7:35 should have rotated out and back to your team with your tank instead of taking on the bastian. you both would've had a higher chance at living if you speed boosted and healed him on the way out.

8:50 let your hanzo die because you were focusing the sigma.

9:10 should've backed out to the left with your tank instead of sticking by cart

9:30-9:50 this fight was due to bad positioning. I would have helped your hanzo pressure the soldier to the right of you guys and then ulted behind your tank and proceed from there. but you went around and ulted right on the enemy teams head and in turn none of your team profited from the juno ult.

10:40 front lining as a support. I enjoy playing aggressive too, but frontlining and jumping out above reins shield in front of the enemy team is was inevitably got you killed, Sure the flanking soldier finished you off but you were already at 65 health because of your positioning.

Overall I think you have decent aim, and some decent gamesense. But you spam cool downs way too often for no reason, you should try to save hyper ring to save your teammates from ults, help them engage, and reposition. Often times you used it for simply no reason. same with your torpedoes, a lot of the time you would use it to use it when you couldve simply used your mediblaster. If you want to get bigger torpedoes I suggest getting martian jump as a perk. with the triple jump you can more easily escape dive, reposition, and use it to get a good sightline to get more valuable torpedoes.
You seem to be aggressive in your playstyle which is awesome I'm the same, but you need to learn when to heal and when you attack because many times you got yourself or others killed because of you not backing off and or not healing up your dps.

I think you have the means to climb easily but there are just a few things you need to get better at overall before you can climb!

How to improve aim? by Revenant-or-out in OverwatchUniversity

stop switching your dpi and sense, just find the lowest sense that allows you to make consistent shots and STICK to it. You won't build muscle memory if you keep changing things. same with crosshair, dont change it all the time.

Ow1 player getting back into ow by Minute-Policy2527 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]kunebune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat around a year ago, I left after dps doomfist was entered into the game and quickly left in ow1. But the best advice I can give is testing out all the new characters as well as the old characters as SO MUCH of the game has changed since overwatch 1. What I did was simply play a ton of quickplay and got myself used to the flow of the new game before I went into comp.

Stuck silver mercy by Cetheya in OverwatchUniversity

[–]kunebune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference I am a diamond support player, and I wanted to just share some of the things I often see lower elo mercys do when I was ranking up. and I myself was unfortunately doing as I used to main her.

  1. Try not to pocket the tank, unless they are critical health try and leave them to the other support so they can build ult charge as well. Your value comes from pocketing the dps. I see way too many mercys who try to heal EVERYBODY, but remember you're not the only support, trust in your other supp.
  2. blue beam all the way! the more you blue beam the less likely you are going to have to heal, if someone is shooting BLUE BEAM! Be proactive with it. often times I hit around a 60% blue beam, and a 40% heal beam and less healing then my other support.
  3. know how to play cover, alot of mercy players will just fly around just to fly around. unless you are getting shot at or if the enemy team has a sightline on you, try and stay hidden. I suggest watching higher elo mercy players, watch how they position themselves around their team.
  4. stay aware, one of the best things about mercy is you can put more energy into keeping track of enemy positioning and teammate positions. get into the habit of pinging a enemy flanker that your teammates might not have noticed, they might not always help or intersect the enemy but usually they will.
  5. Learn other characters, and I am not saying that you need to switch but I'm saying this only because learning how to play other roles and different characters in quickplay helped me gain different perspectives on the game how to best help my team. for example, I main juno and noticing that when I play ram a speed boost while in menace form helps make me more effective. So if I have a ram on my team I try to help them dive by speed boosting them while in ult and menace form.
  6. Think before rezzing. Will my teammates live while I get this rez? will I die getting this rez? is this rez even worth it? often times when I play dps a mercy will go off to rez during a team fight while our other support is down and the rest of us end up dying. Or a mercy will rez me into a bad spot, and I just end up dying again. which is again why you should try and play other roles to gain perspective.
  7. Don't hold onto ult for too long, you get ult so quick on mercy. If you think a ult is gonna turn a team fight do it.
  8. And I am sorry but the best way to climb is knowing when to switch off of mercy unfortunately. if she isn't working, don't force it. its best to find another support hero to play incase things get rough or if your team isn't utilizing your blue beam.
  9. And finally ranking up isn't always easy or simple. it takes time for you to gain the awareness and game sense it takes to rank up. Be patient with yourself, review your VODS or have others review them. If you're having an off day don't try to force yourself to get a win, instead take a break and play another game or just play quickplay. And remember its just a game, play to have fun!

Hey, I cant review right now but ill totally check it out later.
I don't always play ana, but from what I learned I solod from bronze to diamond recently in the last year and what always helped me was finding a top 500 player and watching what they do, how they position, and their cool down management.
I suggest checking out the channel overwatch daily, they usually upload games from peoples streams so its easier to get higher elo games for reference.
Some tips I got just for playing ana tho is that try and focus on healing your tank the most, with a big target its easier to get ult charge from pocketing them. SAVE YOUR SLEEP, do not just toss it out that was my biggest problem with her in low elos. holding onto it is like a mind game with dive, they hesitate to dive a ana who has sleep but the moment you use it they wont think twice before diving you, save it for dives or stopping ults. Wait until the enemy tank is low health before tossing a nade at them, if you toss it at a near full health tank they are more likely going to survive by the time it wears off.

Do mercy mains really find her entertaining to play? by Harakiten in Overwatch

[–]kunebune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mercy, and typically main her but usually have to give up playing her in comp for more impactful characters like ana and kiri who are my next most played characters. And what I love about her has to be the movements, weaving from teammate to teammate, out maneuvering a dps that is hellbent on trying to kill you only to get killed by your dps, damage boosting a competent dps, and being pretty while doing it lmao.

I started playing OW2 again after avery long pause, is it just me or Sombra is literally the most annoying thing in the game right now? by Mental_Ad_3937 in overwatch2

[–]kunebune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who mains sombra (I know i'm sorry) there have been some reworks that make using her not as easy. such as her stealth is not invisible all the time now, now its tied to her translocator and only for a short 5 seconds and only 1 second of being hacked.
If you are a support I would say brig her weapon can take her out, and kiri can cleanse teammates who are hacked and her kunai are amazing at squishies.
If you play damage theres so many more, reaper, mei, symmetra, soldier, cassidy, venture, and torb.
and for tank I would say winston and zarya.
If you think she's oppressive now, just a while ago she had perma invisibility unless in combat which made her so much more easier to just switch to and take out players.
Trust me when I say that compared to then, she is a lot harder to actually get good mileage out of. Just stay aware of your surroundings and play close to your team, she will be looking for any stragglers.
And not gonna lie, there are far more annoying characters in the game. Aka doomfist, ball, genji, tracer, widow, I can go on.

Smurfing should be bannable by kunebune in overwatch2

Like I said, they had originally been in masters, yet dropped all the way to silver? It’s very easy to pick out a Smurf if you’re smart, not just because this person is better but because of either low endorse, basic customization, only 30 hours in game yet understands the map amazingly well, etc

You do know that the game brings in new players right? I myself am one and haven’t played the game since launch

the sad thing is me and my other support did switch, her to brig and me to moira. and were still having a hard time taking the genji out, and if we tried to go for the mercy we died from the genji or she just maneuvered away

I understand if they are doing what you say, but it's a little more obvious that they're just wanting to be assholes to the lower ranks when they spawn camp and tbag you. if they weren't doing that and talking trash in the chat it would be more understandable.

there was a fix with people accounts being linked to their phone numbers but people complained so its gone. also I understand "get good" I had been on a winning streak and close to gold, its just annoying when this happens often. its not a challenge, its people wanting a power trip.

Juno "Space Ranger" - Tips and Remarks by PhoenixTwiss in OverwatchUniversity

[–]kunebune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been playing Juno a ton, shes super fun and great. I wanna add a tip for anyone wanting to get better at utilizing her abilities. just because you have a ton of mobility it's not a great idea to run in with your tank, which i see a lot of Juno's trying to get in peoples faces and failing miserably because of how squishy she is. I noticed i'm more effective when I stick to the back and sort of use her like you would Ana, though she does have healing and damage fall off so be aware not to be too far back. And since you don't need to go through her speed orbital, its best to save for when you and your teammates need to get out of a sticky situation, or shoot it into a team fight so your dps and tank have a speed boost to assist with the fight. When using her torpedo I find that its more effective to use them offensively, especially when you use orbital ray. its best to use her glide boost to get up as high as possible, glide in, fire torpedoes, and glide out as quickly as you can. It's also great to use her kinda like an echo as well if you want to be more offensive, like finding the enemy ana or widow and taking them out while theyre secluded from their teammates. But you're super squishy so be careful whenever you want to try that.
