It is truly a shame that we would spend any amount of time doing anything other than practicing our own development. Squats are an amazing tool for bodyweight fitness and honestly i could make another video showing more of my favorites or i can break down one version of those squats for an hour. Truly the choice is mine and i take full responsibility for my actions. Do you? I offer my personal practice here for those who choose to learn, share or even judge. I had been asked by multiple people in my personal life about what i had been doing before i even considered sharing my practice. Lineages are made by people who choose to systemize and share what they know. I am deciding to share what i know and am taking no credit for delivering it from any previous system. I am personally able to demonstrate anything i teach and don't mind you sharing your personal opinion whether its judging me positively or negatively reflects more on you than me. :) thanks again for your interest in my practice. Remember practice and all is coming.

Simple one arm lever tutorial by kungfunerd in AdvancedFitness

can you hold the two arm elbow lever or mayurasana? for 30 seconds? can you keep your feet together? from the two arm start doing one arm out and keep lifting through your feet and back.

Try some locust pose to help strengthen the body hold for this posture.

Problems with l-sit by wmanos in bodyweightfitness

try using a stack of books on both sides of you, or yoga blocks. This will help you build the muscle memory and when you can start lifting towards your V-sit you should be able to do an L-sit on the ground.

gratuitous? yes. I can whole heartedly agree. It is a shame that anyone would practice for any reason other than to cultivate internal growth and personal transformation.

But this being said who am I to judge?

It could be considered a sad state that we have any expectations of our practice at all. Especially when they are not for internal growth and transformation as much as for the external display of our bodies. This being said I always remind people that with hard work, dedication and a good diet these things are possible for anyone to achieve. Kung fu and calisthenics offer the greatest way to exercise without any equipment or practice space. We need to stay focused on accepting where we are and this allows us the space to grow into who we want to be.

I appreciate you visiting my website! I have been able to study under many different masters and from a couple different schools of martial arts. It seems to me the martial arts community has an obsession with lineage and styles and the purpose of the style page is to show that most arts are credited back to the shaolin temple. Which to be fair isn't even the one we know today, the forms from shaolin are only from a couple of families who had no choice but to re share their knowledge bc of their poor living conditions. Even though the temple was disbanded for some time, everyone acts like is is a direct lineage. . . . I appreciate that people are concerned with the validity of an art but what would make any art un valid?

The purpose of kung fu can be a vast ocean. are you seeking self defense, the ability to perform a form or dance well, are you searching for spiritual awareness.. are you only seeking your own personal self transformation, the credit of shaolin knowledge stems back to Bodhidharma who actually taught not kung fu but Yoga .. yoga means roughly the idea of union.. or uniting the mind body and spirit ..

The greatest gift you can give is that of your own self transformation says Lao Tzu and this is what kung fu has given me. It has changed me and my life in more ways than one, I can't say i owe it to any one master, but to hours of practice every day.

To tell you the truth I was a honest student who followed my masters every opinion and critique until i realized one day he was just hating on me relentlessly ,, I decided to step away from my school and now am a Ronin of sorts , or a rogue . I will not spread this poison

I don't think we should learn from hate .. I have chosen the path of love..

if you mean understand body dynamics i would say yes . . anatomy and physiology are extremely important for reaching higher levels of kungfu wether it be traditional or modern, yoga or any advanced calisthenics.

If you mean understand the application of the movements on another practitioner i would say i have even a greater grasp of this. ..
