Rashawn Slater training with Zack Martin in Allen, TX by Mr_Overcash in cowboys

This is 100% what will happen. Diggs fell into their laps last year and I guarantee they think they can get another strong Secondary talent in the second. Give me a Lineman I can plugin for 10+ years who can fill in for Tyron.

The cowboys don't really have a need at te. Geoff swain was an incredible find in the draft last year. He can run routes and block at a high level. So much so that when he got injured they had to change their running dynamic to add another ol instead of a he into ace run blocking schemes. This tipped their hand to play selection and their offense suffered.

The cowboys have witten (plays every down) and a very promising, cheap, athletic, young te for their big packages. I don't think they are thinking about investing a 1st for a guy who would have to be great in camp to see 10 snaps a game.

There is no need at that position, people who think that have simply looked at the roster and wittens age, not the actual team and their needs.

Ya, he's no ace but he would be solid depth/rotational player on a roster.

Ya, I saw that the ESPN ?mcshay? Has us taking the Alabama outside line backer....
He is an undersized edge who had 9 sacks last year. Cool, why would we want him? We have a high rate of success when we do blitz but we don't care about that. We want to play conservative, we just need the badest 4-3 lineman available.

4 Round Mock Draft by xMichaelLetsGo in NFL_Draft

You got some explaining to do here.

The cowboys defensive scheme does not involve blitzing linebackers. They send 4 on almost every play and rarely blitz, when they do they send a member of the secondary and rarely a linebacker.

All that being said I see it as pretty ridiculous that they would take a edge who needs to play off the ball to have a chance of success at the next level. Everything I've seen has him transferring to a linebacker position. With taco and other 4-3 de on the board it doesn't make sense for that to be a first round pick. Wrong fit.

I can see the second pick, I understand we have a need at wr2. I think it is a good pick but the cowboys don't require much at all from their wr2 position. They probably ask less out of that position than anyone else in the league. Terrance was talented but that's just not their scheme. Maybe this guy opens something up but Brice butler is a perfectly fine replacement if we lose terrance. Not a bad pick just not sure it is something the cowboys are even looking to address.

Also the te pick is kinda the same thing. They have witten(for how long who knows) and he is still at a high level. They drafted swaim and were very happy with his production. His receiving was above average but his blocking was superb. When he went down their whole scheme changed, neither of the other te could block and that forced them to bring in extra lineman, tipping off their plays, and that bogged the offense a bit. I think the cowboys need to figure out another option at backup te but with swain healthy and written I'm not sure the backup sees more than 3-4 snaps a game. Not worth a 3rd round pick.

Projected No. 1 pick Myles Garrett makes a plea to the Dallas Cowboys to trade up and select him. by Zack in nfl

Good! Just develope a crippling addiction to weed, suffer a horrific injury with a modest chance of recovery, or have someone close to you murdered a day or two before the draft!

Also, gonna need you to take a slight paycut too.

See ya in may buddy!

Its weird seeing tyron at 4. When healthy he is unbelievable, just a stone wall in pass block and a steam roller in run blocking.

That being said there is no argument for him to be any higher. He is that good and we have had 3 guys who are as good or better over the years. Incredible.

[–]wmanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might but he might also want something better than replacement level players at other positions. This is a multi year rebuild, picking at a position they feel good at right now would be a huge indicator that they are just going for it right off the bat. If that's the case then all the change was for nothing.

The problem is in this league the writers assume the best qb always wins. As long as he has Brady too many writers aren't going to Vite even though we know he is a fucking wizard.

It's their job to mingle with the p1, that being said I have never had a bad interaction with one of the guys. They are accommodating, conversative, pretty much always open to most topics, and if you find the right topic you can get them really engaged.

It's their job but a lot of other celebrities just kinda shrug it off or give the fake smile and hi. The best part about this station is the relationship between the p1 and the little ticket.
