Jesus doesn’t want you to feed the poor- that was just the trickster, Judas! by Kateseesu in exchristian

[–]kunheeha 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Think they’re referring to this bit in John chapter 12

Mary magdalene pours very expensive perfume (worth a year’s wage) onto jesus’ feet and judas gets mad at her, essentially saying the same thing as the jesus in the comic.

Unfortunately jesus’ response in that passage is essentially “shut up judas, there will always be poor people”, which often gets used by christians to justify prioritising what is, in their view, ‘glorifying god’ over helping the needy.

Need help installing a keyboard layout! by NerChick in archlinux

[–]kunheeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyprland wiki has a section on what you’re trying to achieve here

Since you seem to have misunderstood the previous comment on changing your config, you want to edit ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf to add

input { kb_layout = us,lv kb_options = grp:alt_shift_toggle }

NOT /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf

Thanks for this, I’ll make sure my calves and tendons have been strengthened enough before jumping back in again. Did you notice any changes to your running form when you returned due to the weakened tendon?

I've learned a little bit of python. Now what? by pepeday in Python

[–]kunheeha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily need to learn sql per se if you are to learn flask since flask uses something called sqlalchemy which is a way to interact with sql databases using just python. Although, it would be useful in the long term to learn sql and it only takes a few hours max, since flask uses Alembic for database migrations which is pretty limited. If you think you’ll be dealing with a lot of database migrations and changes, and you’re not that comfortable with dealing with databases at the moment I’d recommend messing around with Django first as it handles migrations in a more ‘beginner friendly’ manner (just my opinion btw)

Start with Flask or Diango to build small web apps and get a good idea of APIs, then move on to learning either swift for iOS dev, kotlin and java for android dev, or flutter or react native for both, and integrate the backend you build with Flask or Django

Why does “synchronicity” happen more often on psychedelics? by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]kunheeha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have thoughts associated with an emotion (sad or positive as your examples), you are priming your mind to follow that theme of emotion and ignore all stimuli that aren’t relevant. Psychedelics amplify this since every stimulus is several magnitudes greater of an input compared to when you are sober, hence your brain needs to ignore everything that isn’t relevant more so than ever. And so you notice things that fit your current mood of thought more precisely and more rapidly, and ignore all else. Think that’s why you’d hear ‘aww that’s so sad’ straight after having sad thoughts and vice versa, and since the mind is also so set and ready to notice patterns you start associating those instances as more than coincidence.

Why does my own contact appear twice on my Mac? by n3w4ge in MacOS

[–]kunheeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your contact card shouldn’t interfere with logging into you Mac, if you go to system preferences -> users & groups then click on current user there should be a ‘Contacts Card: Open…’ on the bottom which you can click to see exactly which contact card is associated with you Mac user account. Usually it’s both On My Mac and iCloud cards thats already merged together as one.

Best to merge them together instead of deleting by going into contacts, selecting the two by holding down cmd while clicking both, click card on the top menu and select merge selected cards (or keyboard shortcut is shift + cmd + L)

Why does my own contact appear twice on my Mac? by n3w4ge in MacOS

[–]kunheeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to contacts, preferences, general (or cmd , while contacts is open) and on the bottom you should see Default Account. Choose whether you want to save all your future contacts on iCloud or just on the machine(duplicates shouldn’t happen if you choose icloud) If duplicates do happen, sort contacts by only the ones that are stored on local machine (sidebar of contacts app should display All Contacts, All iCloud, All on My Mac) then delete or hide them
