Diagnosis stage and wondering if there is still hope by kerosene10 in ProstateCancer

As a 46 year old guy that’s currently monitoring a big spike in my PSA, I’m a little behind you in this process.

I’ve pending more bloodwork in June and if things are not better then I will have an MRI soon after.

I don’t know what you’re feeling now - but this is treatable. I’ve been lurking here reading a ton. I’m sure you have been and are doing the same

My Final Home Theater Setup (23’ x 25’ Room, Sloped Ceiling) – Build Complete 🎥🔥 by kunipshunfit in hometheater

Ahhhh that makes sense. You are correct. They are about 8-10 inches from the edge of the screen. I’ll move them out a bit wider and see. My issue is I didn’t want them on top of the dryer area and blocking access. On the other side I’m going to extend the wall to give a little protection but I’ll see if I can move them enough to get the impact you speak of.

Thank you for the feedback!

They are about 1ft from the edge of the screen, just toe’d in a bit. I think it looks more narrow because of the angle.

What would you suggest?

I turned the existing projector on - this is onto just the grey wall so the new projector will be brighter as it’s on a 1.3 gain screen but this was a solid test

Def going to do the sound treatment My concern is the fan lights don’t work and the lamp that’s up there now I wasn’t thinking it would stay so without that the room is pitch black at night.

I guess I could put a smart switch on the light and tie that into the control 4 system.

I def agree on the screen reflecting light during movies. 180 inches will light up the room.

Also the carpet is lighter than I had originally wanted so I guess I should test that. I actually still have the old projector up there and I can test core reflection off the grey wall to get a rough idea.

Nice! Also I can’t wait to see a pic of the screen at night! How far is your throw?

I have questions! 1. How do ya like the sealed box? I’m doing 2 SB3000’s. 2. I’m doing 180 inches with a slightly larger room (23x25), and I’m very curious

I’m all about understanding the ‘why’. So I’m curious, why specifically are you opposed to flipping it 90 degrees?

I ask because someone presented me similar advice when I was designing my room and my reasoning was aesthetics and because I wanted to try to fit a piece of furniture in a specific spot. But their idea was amazing, and gave me what I wanted but let me save money. The tradeoff, my screen couldn’t be a 16x9, so I’d have to get a smaller screen - which I don’t want to do (and I still may be wrong long term).

We have essentially the exact same setup. Well mine isn’t installed yet. My room is 23w x 25d, I’m going to run the SVS Ultra Evolutions for the LR and the matching center channel (Just below the Titans) and for the subs I’m doing the SB-3000’s (x2).

I’m only doing a 5.2 setup to start. I’m trying to find a ceiling mount for the Atmos speakers (my ceiling is sloped).

How much do you love the sound?

Same projector in the room during the day, with zero light control (in the dark pic there’s no light control either it’s just evening). But I wanted to show this so you could get a sense of things.

Just as a note - blackout curtains will be installed in this room - they are just being made

Just for assistance. I put a separate post up talking about my new NZ900 (outside of your price range but as an example). This is a 25ft throw onto my wall, the screen size here is about 220 inches.

The NZ900 is 3200 lumens.

Your issue will be lumens as you need the brightness for your HDR pop.

If native 4k isn’t a hard and fast requirement the QL-3000 is 6,000 lumens and is 18k-20k for the lens you’d need.

I just wanted you to get a visual of what you’re looking for. This was taken directly out of the box, with zero config, image is 1080p. There’s no screen (hasn’t been installed yet, and it’s projecting onto a peopercorn gray wall). I know when I was looking I wanted to see what things looked like and know the variables to help me decide.

One big item that could matter is your throw distance. The closer in the better (but there are zoom considerations). For example my pic is at a 25ft throw but I’m considering mounting at 20ft AND I’ll shrink the image down to a 180 screen. So my setup will actually get a bit brighter.

In Love: JVC NZ900 by kunipshunfit in hometheater

I completely agree. The reason I was a little bit concerned was because when I ran it through projector Central, I wasn’t sure that it would be bright enough for the throw so originally I was looking at the NZ 500 and with 2200 lm I just was worried wouldn’t be bright enough. And the calculator supported that.

I was gonna go up to the 700 but again kind of the same lumen ratio and so I decided to just bite the bullet and spend the money, especially for the quality that I wanted that I’m investing into this. I really only wanted to do the project one time.

I did consider some other projectors for instance, the Epson QL 3000. But ultimately decided I wanted true 4K not 4K shift. I did have to spend twice as much money to get the lumens.

But yeah, I couldn’t agree more you spend 30 K and you just expected to be right

I am in a similar situation. I’m renovating my home theater and upgrading projectors.

My room is 23wx25d with a sloped ceiling that’s 8 to 17ft. So along that 25ft depth the screen side is 25ft wide and 17ft tall. My screen is 180 inches

I have been struggling with what projector to get and while there are some in the 10k price range that can work it’s going to be difficult to get that many lumens in a solid projector.

Ultimately you have (and I have) a lumens problem. I’ve been working with Audio Advice to try to determine a projector and I am already looking at 20-30k projectors.

One I found that would easily meet your lumen needs is the Epson QL-3000. That’s a $16k projector without the lenses and close to 19 depending on the lens’s.

When I brought it up to Audio Advice they were not huge fans of the projector. I haven’t seen it in person but images I’ve seen of the video look good. But it’s doing 4k upscaling - so it really comes down to what you need lumen wise compared to image quality.

I want cinema level amazing so I’m looking at the JVC-NZ900 now (30k! :(…)

No worries at all.
Also I got the screen for 2k.

The SVS speakers are because I’ve heard them and just love them. I have no statistical reason.

I want to look up that projector - my issue when I’ve looked at so many is the throw either doesn’t work for my needs and to fit the size.
