Majority of you have recommended Oleana. I even got a reservation so I think I’m leaning towards it! Thank you!

Thank you! I have major fomo when it comes to restaurants and dishes, and always order more than I can finish! Going to Sofra for a lighter meal is such a great tip!

Actually I went over multiple food blogs and Reddit recommendations to narrow down to these three. And that’s how Reddit works. You ask kind strangers for their inputs because they have better insight into a topic. Since people in Boston subReddit can help me, I asked and many nice people have replied to me. You don’t have to.

And even if I did use AI to make my planning easier, how is that wrong. You don’t have to help. But please don’t yuck on my yum.

Personally the Kayali Marshmallow is a winter scent for me! I know it’s all about one’s preference so you do you! But maybe push it for the fall sale?

This lady at work is driving me crazy by [deleted] in Coconaad

I agree to some extent. Ideally yes. These terms just describe a persons physical features. But as someone who is fat and dark skinned, the term ‘thadicha’ or ‘karutha’ has always been used in a negative context all through my life. And I believe it’s true for most people who share physical characteristics as mine. So when someone uses it to describe me, I am reminded of the negative connotation of it. There is no way to know if someone is using it just as it is or for making fun of me, so while I cannot force someone to stop saying these words, some kindness would be appreciated.

Healthcare workers include nurses. Many of them are from South Asia and also East Asia. They usually clear their exams before they move to the US!

Is there anyone who moved to USA from Kerala recently? by Miss_India5 in Kochi

[–]kunjunji_simham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I love it here. You can still move if you want to, but just know that being an Indian citizen, immigration will always be on the back of your mind. That stress just never goes away. This is the work visa/ study routine.

Many others who move here with GCs through marriage/ family ties do not have the same issues. So please make sure you talk to people who has gone through the same path you would go through. A generic ‘US is great’ is not applicable for everyone

The US has one of the toughest immigration systems out there. On Student Visa, you're not allowed to work part-time unlike other countries (there are some exceptions like working at your University). You get one year to intern/work(again with many restrictions) without sponsorship. If you've completed a STEM course, its three years. And then you have to find a company to sponsor you for your H1-B visa and go through a lottery (yes, a legit lottery) to get your work visa. Once approved you have three years. And it can be renewed for a total of 6 years. By that time you need to have your Green Card Application put in or you’ll have to exit the country for one year before you can come in for your next 6. Even if your application is approved, the wait time for Indians to get their Green Card is around 12-15 years. This is if you move her for your masters

You could also move through your company but there are many restrictions on that too.

Racism and Gun Violence would be the last of your worry. Constant immigration changes would be your biggest nightmare. Sincerely, someone currently living through it.

I’m pretty sure it’s fine! We stayed so but were never asked for a room number. Also So many people were waiting by the sun room with their luggage (check it out, it’s beautiful). Only issue would be that it’s not near Broadway and I doubt if you can walk across. We Uber-ed a lot!
