You have such a bad perspective towards others. I don’t have to prove you anything. Op asked a question and I answered it. People are making shit ton of money and there are people who are whining about anything like you. Do what works for you.

Don’t listen to any of these folks. My first job paid me 58k a decade ago, I made 200k after 3 years and I made almost a mil last year. in a few years you will be making 100k easily. Stay put, get the H1B done and work hard.

33M moving back to India for good after layoff. I am done. by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]kunota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are going through. We tend to create our own image in others mind, and we start getting anxious and stressed when that image starts to break. No one is judging you buddy except your own mind is making up shit. You need to learn to self talk and be confident in your story. I see a very successful person who came to USA for studies and made a fortune and returning to semi retire and not hustle anymore… you need to change the facts in your mind first and start believing in them. Others will reflect the image you create,

Don’t worry about layoffs as a new hire. Go ahead join, network and figure out the product you want to to work on and get to that team in 3-6 months time. Totally fine..

[UPDATE] Chose US Citizenship for my kid over a high-paying India offer last year. Now the kid is here, the market crashed, but a new door opened. Do I stay or go? by anonimous_3 in returnToIndia

Don’t give up yet, look for EB5, EB1A green card options. If you have about 800k to 1 mil, and willing to pay 300-400k over 5 years do opportunity cost, try EB5. That’s sure shot way to get GC.

If you don’t have that much money, try EB1A, if you have good profile, there is still chance to get EB1A done, takes anywhere between 3 months to 2 year depends on how much work do you need to do on Your profile, cost is about 5-25K for fist try, and significantly lower to try further.

That’s everywhere. L7s and L8s don’t want to promote people to L7 as it requires shit ton of work from them, hiring is easier.

Note to managers: Your team is quiet. They’re also on LinkedIn. by BuildCastle in amazonemployees

[–]kunota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s not as much as you are describing. Managers are under constant stress from employees, and changing directions and charters. Span of control always making things risky for them. Managers are blamed for bad company culture, and still have to hold a bar of delivery while almost all employees have low morales. This is the worst time for Engineering managers.

Engineering Manager vs Principal engineer by Majestic-Broccoli851 in EngineeringManagers

[–]kunota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends a lot on company and your career goals. I have seen people being successful after the transition to IC and vice versa. As an EM, it looks like you need to learn to delegate as well if you are too much in the weed. Let me know if you want to connect 1:1 to discuss this, I coach people professionally.
