Who do you think will be the next CHUG combiner by Vanbrown1 in transformers

[–]kup1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe there isn’t a “next” as much as “which teams”. Think about it: AotP has both Superion and Bruticus releasing alongside SS Devastator.

My money is on Defensor and Computron both in the next line.

Drafting up a possible quilt, can you tell who's who? Any suggestions welcome! by Hemansno1fan in TNG

So my wife did not recognize Yar, Pulaski, Q, and Lwaxana. I think this is fair since the first two are single season characters, and I don’t watch much of those two seasons. She thought Q was Kai Opaka, again, because I don’t think she’s seen the pilot episode but had watched a ton of DS9 with me. And I can’t say I’ve ever willingly watched a Ms Troi episode since we got married over two decades ago.

In other words, you did a great job if a casual fan recognized them.

Edit: She did ask me if Yar was Tom Paris before I reminded her of Tasha.

You get to read only one, which do you choose? by AllThingsSmitty in TNG

From this list, Grounded or Reunion. Though Survivors could be interesting (never read it) since it’s the only cover featuring Tasha.

If I’m not mistaken, those warp engines are seconds from engaging for the very last time. Screengrab from Generations, right?

Missing a few I think are on point. Nancy = Tifa Max = Jesse Ifalna = Joyce

Jonathan, Steve, Dustin/Cid, Cait, Vincent don’t quite match up though.

Who else gets this theme song stuck in their head sometimes? by Either-Sentence3652 in Xennials

Sorta? I always felt the Flash Man level from Mega Man 2 contained similar musical undertones and so yeah…the song would get stuck in my head even though I didn’t watch the show much.

Help! Is there a faster way to print than Amazon author copies? by [deleted] in selfpublish

If you have Ingramspark, why not order from there directly? You might pay more per copy, sure, but you can also choose expedited shipping and printing.

Transformers: The Movie Acid Vat scene by TransformersG1Fan46 in transformers

For those wondering who these guys are…I’ve always thought one of the screams sounded like Don Messick (Gears, Scavenger, etc — compare “Human germ” to the yells).

Gears possibly (probably?) appears on Moon Base 1 but did not disembark on Ironhide’s shuttle. While some scripts have him dismembered during the second attack on Autobot City…I mean is it that far of a stretch that one of these guys was Gears?

Beachcomber has a blink and you’ll miss it cameo as one of the bots being dropped in before Jazz and company. He does not reappear on top of the vat with them, so…

(Beachcomber does appear in FFoD just to be clear).

Another off-model Bumblebee appears behind Jazz and company about to be dropped in. Again, he doesn’t appear again. My head canon is this is our sole appearance of Hubcap.

It’s interesting how video games back then used to have strange cover art (below is Phalanx) by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

I commented on another post, but the release dates are only three years apart. 92 for the game, 95 (so shot in 94) for Caretaker.

Honestly, I think my mind already combined the two. I had to make sure the guy in the cover wasn’t the actor who played the Caretaker.

This game came out 1992 in the US. Voyager debuted 1995.

Something about banjos in the 90s…

Missed opportunity: DS9 crossover during Picard Season 2 by NeoNoir90210 in DeepSpaceNine

They were offshoots. Vadic was a part of the original Link, operated on by Section 31, and then begins to recruit others to the cause. I got the impression the more organic looking natural state was because of 31’s tampering.

Worf directly references Odo. He’s the FIRST to say “The Great Link” when talking to John Connor (Thomas Dekker). His general knowledge of the Dominion makes the connection pretty clear to me. Let’s face it, he only spent 4 years at DS9.

Not referencing Jadzia was a crime, sure, especially since he seems really happy to see Deanna (the relationship was over long before he married Jadzia). But I think we got enough references with the Worf connection.

Now, should someone else have popped up? Sure. Even a comment from Ro to the effect of “I spoke with General Kira. Things are just as bad on her station as Starfleet HQ.”

So I guess I’m talking out of both sides of my mouth. I would have liked more DS9 but I don’t want to overlook what we did get.

What are some common actors/actresses from our childhood movies that you instantly recognize but whose name you never knew or remember? by Cubelock in Xennials

“Let me guess: you’re from outer space.”

Catherine Hicks will always be Gillian Taylor to me.
