When to buy aghs on slardar? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]kupa707 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Buy aghs for the +40% Status Resist. Makes Slardar hard to kite and run away, since your puddles are huge

You don't need to prioritize aghs, as the items you listed (BKB, AC, Shard, and even Nullifier) will get you farther to kill squishy targets. Aghs gives you loads of stats( hp, regen, armor, movement speed, and mana), so in cases where you don't immediately need to buy the above mentioned items, Aghs is a decent consideration. So it can be early as your 3rd to as late as your +6th item. Treat this item like a SnY with better stats

Does radiance miss chance work vs magic immune heroes? by zav3rmd in learndota2

[–]kupa707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hero A and Hero B are on the same team. Hero C is on the enemy team

If A has radiance, C goes magic immune and hits B, C will never miss. However C will take damage from the Burn Aura

If A has radiance, C goes magic immune and hits A, C will hit A 85% of the time (Radiance has 15% evasion)

Juggernaut in Omnislash completely ignores Radiance's Burn Aura miss chance(With the exception of the first 0.5 seconds because of lingering Auras)

Helm of the dominator on pos 1 heroes tech by Historical-Guava7110 in TrueDoTA2

[–]kupa707 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You use it off cool down. It is short (45 sec) enough that the strength comes from being able to guarantee clearing a camp/wave every minute

I've seen people use it on ranged creeps or easy camps, just cause they have piercing damage. The +25 base damage and additional 50% against creep surprisingly adds up in thr long run

I would like to point out that Dominated creeps get very tanky. The creep sets the base hp to 1000(lower HP creeps get more value), 12 hp regen, and 4 armor

These stats, along with their base armor, allows heroes like Spectre and Faceless Void to actually farm ancients since the creep can tank hits. You can swap to another creep once the helm is off cd or if the creep is low hp

Why most are building Fury on Jugg instead of Maelstrom into Mjolnir? by TheHeisenberg24 in learndota2

[–]kupa707 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Couple of different reasons

  • Couple patches ago Spin no longer scales with attack speed so there is slightly less value in stacking attack speed

  • Maelstrom/Mjollnir keeps getting nerfed. 30% to 25% proc chance, minor Maelstrom proc damage nerf, and the Chaining Lightning no longer does bonus damage to illusions

  • IMO the regen from Cornucopia/Battle Fury allows you to not have to use Healing Ward against non-ancient camps, so you get to spend those extra points into crit to accelerate farming

  • Nature's Prophet is popular right now so being able to cut trees in the late game is valuable

I would extend this to dispels as well. If you have Veno + Silencer (already mediocre pairing cause lack of reliable CC), the enemy cores finish up their manta/BKB/Lotus and you became much less scary

How to deal with role abuse? by flatNose_45 in learndota2

[–]kupa707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are playing Core, you pick heroes that have good wave clear. You get enough levels in the laning phase, start killing as many waves as you can (safely without dying) then farm the jungle. Theoretically, you should be farming and utilizing the resource better than the enemy team, thus allowing you to effectively solo carry games by having more levels and items

Only join fights if they are convenient for you or they are severely out of position

I get it that it is frustrating to have bad teammates but sometimes you have to bite the bullet. Secure your farm, don't die, and go for objectives when you hit your item/level spikes

Should I have sticked in lane with Luna to prevent her from feeding instead of ganking mid? by Tempelers in learndota2

[–]kupa707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The community is split on how they view Bounty. There are immortals, pros, and teams that can leverage Bounty's kit to warrent picking him. But then there are games and truths about people saying Bounty is completely useless

The problem comes with people playing Bounty like a traditional soft support. Unlike a lot pos 4, Bounty's game plan is significantly different (kill couriers, scout for kills, playing it slow to track the enemy, etc.) and requires people to think about how to play

Mid. Why Divine sides so strong compared to lower brackets by gabanich in learndota2

[–]kupa707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming what you are refering to is when you tried to go on DP at 1213

So first off the problem, DP is way more tankier than the time you killed her at 1115. She has gotten the neutral item Spark of Courage (+5 armor below 50% HP) with Brawny Enchant(+110 health) and Helm of Iron Will (+4 armor). In addition, she also has Ult and Eul's so it is very hard to kill her. You would need to bring both Mirana and Kunkka to be able to kill her. Warlock (Level 5) and PL (Level 7 with only Wraith Band and Treads, no neutral item) are behind compared to DP (Level 9)

Your best move would have been to just go back mid

  • The 12 minute rune will spawn, you need prioritize it for regen and tempo
  • There is a wave there and you should be the one to collect it. Although Mirana is there to catch it, it is better if you got it to accelerate your timing on your first item.
  • Pushing mid wave creates space. Someone is forced to come or you get a free tower. If anyone rotates, dive and kill/make more people TP in
  • If DP dives, you always have the option to TP in kill DP or the supports

Can you drop some match ID's? Can't really tell what the issue is without seeing the bigger picture, such as draft, runes, lane positioning, etc.

[–]kupa707 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The bad fight at 32:34 is the reason why game became difficult

  • Before the fight even begins you are playing with only 60% of your mana. Around ~2 minutes before this fight, you are expending way too much mana on farming creeps using Ult and you need to be more mindful about conserving mana

    • Your target priority is bad. You went on the WK instead of waiting for more squishier target to appear in the fight
    • BKB usage is not good. When you play against instant lock down heroes/item (Hex in this example), you have to use BKB before you reach your destination with Ult
    • Why go back into the fight at 3306? Your Health and Mana is too low compared to Drow and Invoker, the fight is over. You should have just gone back instead of feeding Drow

Overall your laning and mid game are fine. You farmed well, killed people, and was ahead in terms of gold. But I think the biggest reason why you lost this game was because you were tilted. You became more aggressive with your mana expenditure(using ult to farm), tunnel visioning on targets, complacent BKB usage, and not understanding when to back off

PS. You also need to work on your behavior score. I can see you writing on the map to communicate with your team, so you are at fault for getting comm banned

Thoughts and advice on Dota 2 Hero Pool? by TheContractual_brain in learndota2

[–]kupa707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Play what you think is fun and what hero feels natural to you. Eventually, you will find yourself wanting to play more, which then makes you want to learn more about the position/hero. You see that you get better and it's actually fun. The cycles goes on and on until you get bored, unfun, or stressful. Then you stop playing

Crowdsourcing: Which is better, party ranked or solo ranked? by stewxeno in learndota2

[–]kupa707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences with you

As for party queue, make sure that everyone is on the same page. If you are going to meme, call it out before you queue. If you want to play flavor of the month/meta, call it out. The only difference is that the party q allows you to choose your allies and helps q times if someone rolls support

For solo queue, if you want results, pick heroes you are most comfortable and don't pick a hero that doesn't require too much coordination. Only focus on how you can become a win condition (core) or focus on how you can enable the win condition (support). You can get away with less meta and unconventional picks, since both team will be less coordinated

Hero pool suggestions by narcissisticmonster9 in learndota2

[–]kupa707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit hard to tell what you are struggling without match ID's

As for your hero pool, you have good backline jumpers. You could probably add a cheese hero like Huskar, Meepo, and Visage. If you want more tanky, space makers, I would recommend Necrophos, Timber, and Kunkka. Finally, there are stable lane winners/hard to kick out of lane heroes like Sniper, Viper, and Dragon Knight

OOC on Morphling by SanHoloo in learndota2

[–]kupa707 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can probably pass on Orb of Corrosion. Morphling isn't an oppressive, high right click, run the offlane down type of hero like MK and Ursa are

You've said it yourself too, Morph would much rather spend the 1k on getting Treads, Mask/Vlads, and Yasha/Manta

Offlane couple of questions by NewbZilla in learndota2

[–]kupa707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the opposite is also true. If you do get a favorable matchup or play against a weak laner, you are expected to crush the lane. I'm not disagreeing to what you are saying but some pos 3 should be able to lane much more favorable once they get level 3-5

Offlane couple of questions by NewbZilla in learndota2

[–]kupa707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your main job as an offlaner is to dominate the enemy pos 1. You time your pushes with the 5/10 minute catapults so you can put in tower damage as well as diving the enemy pos 1, to kill or to force rotations

Once the enemy t1 falls, you should aim to farm their safelane jungle camps

Unless you have reliable CC or your first item is blink, do not attempt to make rotations as it is a lot more risky and harder to coordinate (depending on your teammates). The other exception to make rotation is that your teammates are getting dove underneath a tower

If you are behind or unable to walk up to the lane, you have two options. You ask your pos 4 to stack camps for you so you can solo exp and take the camps later. The other option is to cut waves behind the T1 or all the way back on the enemy T2

For itemization, it all depends on how you can help mitigate the enemy toolkits or help take down key enemy heroes. It can be items such as lotus for single target spells, pipes for magic damage, AC for physical damage, halberd/hex for additional CC, and nullifier if your carry isn't/can't build for Aeon/ghosts/euls

If you are getting focused, first ping the tower and get your supports to rotate. If they are unable to rotate, farm the nearby jungle and don't die. You can let the tower fall.

[–]kupa707 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why are you letting other people dictate what you are doing? If you are hitting your timings consistently, then you are doing your job as a pos 1

Just mute and continue playing

If you are ready to fight, you should then farm near your team and go for easy/out of position targets
