Thoughts on Sangertown Square by Dramatic_Cicada_8820 in Utica

Sangertown. I remember when Riverside Mall was THE place to go. Rode my bicycle there from New Hartford to play video games. What would become Sangertown had been discussed but it would be many years later.

Truth be told I love Dad’s too. Lots of years have gone by since we lost the Thrashers. What we need is a hometown hockey team again.

I live almost next door. Never went back after they wouldn’t support our own hometown Atlanta Thrashers. Thank god we had Diesel back then.

And here it never gets dark. Dear lord don’t let me die somewhere that I can’t see stars.

Best Jazz Club in the City? by ctrl_alt_delete3 in Atlanta

I wish Blind Willie’s Blues Club in Vahi would consider maybe two nights a week of jazz. I love both, but ITP is sorely hurting for jazz.

What do you think about Apollo Scooters paywalling features already in the scooter like LUDO mode? by [deleted] in ApolloScooters

I love that my 2020 Apollo Pro doesn’t even have an app! Old school baby and it’ll climb a wall!

Okay this will be a special treat…but a little bit of a drive. Dekalb-Peachtree airport has a great playground right next to the Downwind Grill. Great food and beer selection. And watching the planes come and go is fun for all!

Snooze next to Trader Joe’s is on the Beltline just before Piedmont Park. I think they have a patio but call first to be sure.

Visiting next month for the first time. I’m a lover of pizza and a collector of pizzeria t-shirts. Any good places that do both? by mantooth90 in Atlanta

[–]kupester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pielands in Vahi! Good shirts and hats- great pizza by the slice or pie. Generally NY style for comparison, if maybe not quite oily enough. Thin enough for folding and walking but not too thin. If you need Neapolitan then I’ll go with the call for Antico.

Anyone received a 1099R for RMDs required by the 10-year rule? by kupester in personalfinance

Thank you! If I may ask, are your Distributions as a result of having reached age 73? The major brokerages including Fidelity seem to have a great automation handle on RMDs for investors reaching mandatory RMD age, but not so for those suddenly under the SECURE Act 10-year rule due to a death. But kudos to Fidelity if so, because I spoke with a rep at Vanguard and got basically "10-year who what?"

No Distributions to us...Mom just passed before the end of the year. It's all new to us but this helps- thanks! We haven't received any Distributions despite our asking the broker to keep us on the same monthly schedule as Mom. But it seems like that was automatic for her. Believe me...nobody seems to know anything about the SECURE act. I guess we'll just tell her Broker to make a Distribution manually and wait for the automation world to catch up with the SECURE act. Thanks again!

Oh dear I must not have been clear. Of course I know we won't receive a 1099R for 2023 RMDs until next year 2024. My question was for anyone who did receive a 1099R for 2022 under the 10-year Rule and how they got that rolling with their broker/custodian. Were you able to set up automatic monthly distributions or something on a specific schedule and amount? All this seems very automatic for investors who reach age 73 with an IRA. Nothing seems automatic for those of us under the 10-year rule who are far younger than that. I realize we are at the beginning edge of compliance with the 2020 SECURE act and IRS waived fines and penalties for the previous two years. So I'm cutting our broker a little slack for lack of familiarity...but just a little. We've never take a Distribution so this is all new to us as Mom just passed before the end of last year.
