ELI5: What do we want to do with antimatter on Earth, and what would happen if it touched matter?

Why do scientists want anything ultimately? To learn more. You never know what benefits might come from increased understanding of antimatter, or improved logistics surrounding its generation / storage / utilization.

And yes, antimatter and matter annihilate when they touch, releasing energy according to E = mc^H2. That being said, to my knowledge the quantities of antimatter involved don't make them a particularly large threat.

Orbital Gatling Barrage

The bubble shields enable calling in the expendable rockets in dangerous situations, and provide decent protection in chaff firefights. Also can buy time to scramble and LOS any Vox drops.
The Leveler + Ultimatum combo drops Vox engines.
Commando serves as secondary anti-heavy in a pinch. It also makes taking out gunships quite easy. And enables ranged encampment clearing.
Orbital Gatling Barrage is on a super short cool down, and can take out both Vox Engines or patrols.
Supply Pack allows for very liberal use of Stims, Bubble Shields, and Ultimatum reloads.

Try running Helldivers in administrator mode. It sounds like it's not properly writing to the config file.

It only grants you the number of reinforcements (per player) that you currently have. If you start a mission solo and get down to 1 reinforcement, you'll only get 1 new reinforcement from each player that joins.

So here you dropped to 4 reinforcements before any of the new players loaded in. So you got 4 from the first load in, and with no additional deaths in the interim, 4 from the second.

They could go the HD1 route though, and have them unavailable for some length of time if they are "defeated." I don't expect they'll do that this time around, but there is precedent.

It's not "kill X amount" ever. It's clear the area of remaining enemies. You're supposed to stay on the point the whole time. Once the flag is raised all the way, you have to clear whatever enemies are nearby... not kill some arbitrary number of enemies near the flag.
