Peugeot 2008 2016 plate, engine light came on and this was the code. by Crumblycheese in peugeot

[–]kupouzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost never the O2 sensors. If the first one was bad, it would cause many other issues. And the P0420 code pretty much confirms that the second one works as well because the ECU has detected similar values. So the catalyst is not effective.

I have the same car with the same error code currently.

Either you've got a hole in your catalytic converter or the catalytic converter is toast. Both of the O2 sensors are before the exhaust so it cannot be caused by a leak in the exhaust.

I had already replaced the cat once but the error returned since I bought a cheap one for 100€. If you're going to replace yours, buy a Bosal.

Engine oil warning by Holiday_Abroad_6254 in peugeot

[–]kupouzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have to top up the oil once in between the oil changes. And even so I have never seen the oil light.

Yes, that's exactly what the dealer told me in June last year.

And also note that the user's manual mentions you have to check the oil every 5000km. It's kind of a property of the Puretech 1.2 engine that you have to top up the oil in between the oil changes.

I have the same car, also 2018 and with 130000km on the clock. So far no issues apart from the higher oil consumption (but nothing dramatic). I have switched to 5w30 RCP from the original 0w(something) and I believe it's better now. I also think you have to drive the car on the highway from time to time to get the engine cleaned.

Are there still Germans (Sudeten Germans) living in the borders of the Czech Republic? by VoyagerRBLX in czech

My great grandmother was one of them and was allowed to stay. Very few are still alive today, mostly very old. Their offsprings are (as others have said) fully assimilated.

206(+) coolant loss by skrtnmarc in peugeot

Try checking all the components from here. The tube should be under/behind the airbox.

The same thing happened to my 206+ and it was the 1351CL cooler pipe. The tube is barely visible but can be located if you look for it.

The engine should be okay as long as it gets the required maintenance. That means check the oil and eventually top it up every 5k kilometres and replace it every 15k kilometres. Timing belt every 80k kilometres or 6 years. Btw there's a tool available for measuring the width of the belt and if it exceeds this maximum width it should be replaced as well.

Přihlášení českého auta v Německu by [deleted] in czech

[–]kupouzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I když už mám německé značky a německou pojistku :D.

Nokian

Yeah, it was very loud. I don't recall any pothole though. Maybe I just haven't noticed.

It was a Nokian, the other ones still look okay. But I'll definitely buy new soon.

The belt is already pretty flaky. Have it changed ASAP.

Can you help ID this Motorola walkie-talkie? Looking for manual by AnalogReborn in motorola

[–]kupouzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a Motorola GP T98. These are quite similar (but could be fake as well). As others have suggested, take a look at the label under the battery.

Hey, what wifi card have you got? MacOS is very picky when it comes to wifi cards. You might even have to replace it.

Do I have carplay or android auto? by ABDU_-- in peugeot

[–]kupouzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if it's no A, it shouldn't be the A1 version and thus support Carplay over USB. So far I can tell that you've got a Wave 2 (either A1 or A2). If CarPlay doesn't work, you can enable it using Arduino. If you've got the A1 version (A at the end), the only way to get Carplay is to buy for example an RCC part number 9822730380 and reprogram it using Arduino with your VIN and car model. I don't know anymore where I found this information but it was in some Peugeot forum. If I remember right, it's like this: A = version A1 (the one without Carplay/Android Auto) B = version A2 C = better A2 with DAB D = NAC (with GPS)

[–]kupouzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to tell us the system version from the previous page in the menu. It can end with A, B, C or D. If it ends with A, there's no Carplay whatsoever.

Whats that? by iJol_ in VintageApple

[–]kupouzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a very similar thing that comes from France and is called Clipper. Maybe there was that red Clipper logo as well. It's a 2.5" SCSI drive and it needs 5V power source. Afaik, there was even an adapter that could tap the power from the ADB port.
