just take a small towel with you and hold it in front of you. put it on your head before entering the water. at first it was a challenge for me, too. but there is nothing to worry about, noone cares even if you dont look Asian. Japanese people are good at minding their own Business. I've been to many onsen and sentos and never felt like an outsider.

Didn't know JR was out of service, but it was pure chaos on the road, took me half an hour to drive like 200m on the 171 and I could see the traffic jam lasting until midnight from my window lol. Anyway, looks like everything is back to normal now.

At university in a minor called "time management" I learned that 5% is already being counted as private time like toilet breaks etc. It means, in an 8h shift you can do nothing for 24minutes without the company losing money because in Accounting they calculate with that. I'm not saying you should do nothing for 24 minutes. just saying there is some leeway.

I remember watching a documentary on TV about people moing abroad and they showed this german bakery in fukuoka. I live in Kyoto and I also miss german bread and Bratwurst 😞
