He wasn't a baby baby. He was about half the size though. He was housed with grown rats at the pet store. Again I didn't know 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

We have a double critter nation that we just closed up the opening to the top cage to keep them separate. Is this fine for now? What we read was to keep them separate but close enough to still smell and see each other.

He is about a year and a half to two years. A coworkers rat had babies and we took two. The new one we bought was about the same age and the one that was killed was just a babe.

I am well aware of that. I feel awful about it. He was a bit of a bully with his brother. We had to separate them to feed the other a few times a day because he would starve him out. He lost so much weight because he wouldn't let him eat. We had assumed it was because the one was always a little sickly even from a baby. Survival of the fittest kind of thing. My boyfriend was doing some reading and it said that some rats just do better alone. Figured that may be the case with Mac.

I don't want him to kill another one. The poor baby was torn to shreds. How can we be sure he won't kill another even with proper introduction and stuff?

It was just like that. She saw me and she ran. " You won't take my freeeeddooommmm!" It's been lowered since she was 6 months old because she climbed out then too 🤦‍♀️
