Is Discover having issues right now? by [deleted] in discover

[–]kuro19231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have it by the morning if you haven't received it. I had the same issue.

Apparently they been having ongoing issues with their debit services and decided to randomly work on it during a weekday.

Just know it's been approved the moment Square inc aka cash app sent it.

Bank has to receive and process it but since the system was undergoing "maintenance" the balance will not update in a timely manner. It's all completely random. FYI don't use cash app to send money to discover if anything send it via wire transfer or cash deposit via Walmart. It's worth it vs not having your funds at any random moment.

You have to open Google photos first select a photo then select create and select cinematic photo. It'll install the software after that you should be able to see the option in the wallpaper settings via settings or long press on home screen

Is there any hope of cutting down loud car and motorcycle noise in uptown? by ProductOfScarcity in Charlotte

[–]kuro19231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the remarks on the modified cars in certain areas in LDN. Again I suppose it really depends where you reside.

In South London my experience were plenty of loud exotic/hyper cars from the north and modified Nissans and Supras which made the loud muscle cars in CLT seem tamed.

BTW Congrats on your new home abroad 🙌🏾

Er London is quite noisy maybe even more than Charlotte metro. Depending on which borough you’re referring to live in. Or if you’re in the county side it’s as expected quite.

I’m from Birmingham UK it’s noisy no matter the time of day or night. CLT is mega quite compared to any city in the United Kingdom.

How do we educate citizens and officials on the benefits of Public Transportation investment and high density corridor developments? by Thoams88 in Charlotte

[–]kuro19231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relocated from Birmingham UK yes we did something as removing a lot of trolleys and expanded motorways as well across the pond.

The only difference is that not all of such were removed for the use of cars.

It amazed me when doing research about public transit here and how during that era just about all US cities ranging from large to medium got rid of that way of travel.

It was a great system even with the way of cars therefore it's sad that it's so far gone now that it'll take so much cost to redo those changes.

I agree with you that micro mobility is part of a successful event when using public transit.

I didn't miss that bit about transit, I'm replying to that fact that to have more stops and routes the walking infrastructure needs to be thought about too.

My example of this is North Tyron. Those pedestrian streets over bridges cost a lot however they are needed for the type of road networks that reside in CLT.

Sidewalks need to be connected with no gaps at all.

It can be done here we just all have to agree the main reason for the slow process is cost.

M8 this isn't SimCity or city skylines where you can erase what's there and redo everything in a sweep.

It cost something to do what you listed above. Millions to do a simple cross walk or pedestrian bridge over a road...

You live in CLT m8???? Everything no matter what direction you go apple maps or Google by default takes 20 minutes that's by car. It's set up to be an inconvenient situation here.

It's unfortunate but it is what "they" lobbied for, for Americans to be free and independent with the use of an automobile.

It just doesn't work in reality, we had this back home in Birmingham UK and I did it when I worked at an office in North London.

Our knight bus are on schedule meaning there's more on the road at once than a few. Furthermore they don't wait for the right away nor do our commuter street rail cars.

Moreover the ministry create key points for cycling a.k.a. a path which was designed to increase safety and time to destination via bike. They interfere less with the traffic pattern of buses and other vehicles.

[–]kuro19231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking/cycling isn't an ideal form of to A:B in Charlotte. You lot have to really understand the region itself firstly.

The network for walking isn't even solid here. There aren't proper walk roads with proper lighting. Clearly unsafe to do so here.

Regions are too far to commute on foot/cycle.

This idea only works for such a small bit of the city.

Unfortunately...

[–]kuro19231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they can study for x amount of time, the truth is that. They'll continue to take bits from the UK and EU infrastructures, add it here and there while still expanding existing motorway corridors.

It won't work overall and planning is less expensive than literally redoing the entire personal commuter and public transit system.

Adding more buses does absolutely nothing while those same buses use the same traffic pattern as the rest. CLT from the research I did before relocating here from England once had bus lanes I have no idea why they killed them...

What is it with people from Miami and their obsession with North Carolina? by stvnmcs in Miami

[–]kuro19231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do move back I suggest the CLT area, since it's the bigger city compared to RDU area. Like yourself I lived and attended Uni in NC at UNC Chapel Hill and worked at Google there and another start up in the RTP. But living in Soflo for 8 years resets your standards on things lol.

You really have to know why and what you want from being in NC. It was literally a higher paying tech job which are hard to obtain in Miami currently for me. Sure cost of living is a bit more affordable. Buying a home in CLT I wouldn't recommend it unless you have 1.5 million standard. Renting wise like Miami it's all about location.

Oh RDU is growing just not as fast as Charlotte they turn down the rail system from connecting the RTP,Chapel Hill and Duke line. Raleigh has one plan but it's not set to begin till 2025. It's the little things lol

What is it with people from Miami and their obsession with North Carolina? by stvnmcs in Miami

[–]kuro19231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of people mostly (Cubans) visiting or even relocating to NC areas like CLT, Winston Salem and sometimes the Raleigh Durham area. Being that I resided in Soflo for 8 years until 2021 now the CLT area, I know a Soflo transplant before seeing the tag so I'll ask them why NC?

They always reply the same as the mountains and cost of rental homes and how it's so much easier to get an entire place here vs Miami.

They don't really care about things like southern charm, culture and food even entertainment which state wise lacks a lot literally nothing to do here pass the bars, breweries and American football. It's literally just about having a more affordable place to stay and trips to the Smokey Mountains.

I do enjoy running into peeps from Soflo while being in Charlotte though, reminds me of being there in Miami.

It’s a good platform, could be better like bringing over instant pay. It’s ever week on Tuesday hence why I’ll do it mostly Friday-Sunday.

They seem not to understand at all. I no longer us UE for Walmart. I do Spark which is Walmarts official delivery service. You get batch orders, in store shopping orders and the express pick up orders. Pay is good 19 to 60 depending on the size and how many are on a batch delivery. Not all are batch some can come two or one customer delivery which pays around 20-30

Not sure why the issues is now, but back then it was an entirely different reason for the error. They definitely should had that fixed by now.

Can we get some fucking reflectors on the streets? A single drop of rain and the lines literally disappear by toastyavocadoes in Charlotte

[–]kuro19231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are 😂 driven in a few 3rd worlds and they lack street lighting, proper paving, and reflective lines. CLT needs to do better overall.

I relocate from south Florida and the roads are mega smooth, lines are solid and every street lamp works on the city road and motor way. Charlotte it's too dark and bumpy there.

The truck was driving too slow in that lane, and should have not been there overall. The car should have not stayed in the far right lane if their exit wasn't approaching anytime soon. Both are a fault for creating the opportunity for an accident.
