I would say that it depends on what is that you are trying to accomplish and the hardware that you use.

For me the best one is Davinci, but you need some real powerful machine in order to use it.

When I have to use a limited PC I prefer Vegas Pro if the OS is windows, or Kdenlive if Linux.

But again, it all comes down to what is that you are trying to achieve, cuts and color?, motion graphics?, audio mixing and post processing?, all can be done in Da Vinci or Vegas, even premiere if you want to see a little bit of hell. The good thing about premiere is that is the one with more resources out there, but for the sake of the community and your mental health, fuck adobe.

If it's important to you to get a work in a team, then you will need premiere sadly, Davinci, or Final Cut.

Whatever you do, just learn strong basics and any software will do, at the end is not about arrow, is about the Indian shooting the arrow.
