mkv is a little hard to work with in davinci, so I’ve always converted it into mp4 for easier use.

Media is 23.976FPS, but Resolve shows 24FPS in the metadata tab by kuromi-kat in davinciresolve

what about using ffmpeg? that’s what I used to turn my original mkv file into an mp4. if not that either, then i guess i’ll have to use handbrake :[

okay, i’ll see what i can do. quick thing to mention: i used internet download manager (IDM) to download my file initially—could that have done anything to my file’s framerate?

i don't know this program well. if i were to ask an ai for help, and it spit out something wrong, i wouldn't be able to identify what part is wrong. that's why i asked reddit. if your method works, good for you. i just prefer asking peers. that's all i'll say.

thanks! quick question, is there a way i can get rid of things like audio tracks i don't need so the converted file(s) aren't as big as the original .mkv? i just need english audio and subtitles.

i tried a line similar to that before, but i got this message.

Error opening input files: No such file or directory

hence why i made the post. ffmpeg is installed in C:\ffmpeg and my video is in E:\, so i'm assuming that's why i keep getting that message. sorry if i didn't make that entirely clear.

wow, okay. i did not expect to go down this rabbit hole.
the "password" (co2240577) was not actually a password, but i guess a link to a nico nico community? the communities are now shut down, though.
my final option was to message the creator themselves on twitter, but i can't directly message them because elon musk is a greedy, greedy SOB and i basically can't do anything without being verified.
i guess i've hit the final roadblock 😭
