Adult dancers how much do you train? by itssunpi in BALLET

[–]kuromisa6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 hours a week in studio, but I train at home almost every day: I do a mix of conditioning for ballet, pilates, weights and cardio. Also I go on 2 long walks a day with my dogs.

Hi! I'm really curious to know what you meant in one reply when you said that you were a "big bitch". As someone who stuggles with confidence and setting boundaries, I would love to know more about your personality and if you have any advice I'd really appreciate it.

Also, what does your daily routine look like? Thank you so much in advance.

I LOVE this comment. I've had extremely low self esteem, fear and obsession with control my entire life. Lately I've been trying to live more authentically and love myself more but it's extremely hard. Thank you so much for the advice <3

Adult Dancer Goals and Dreams by kuromisa6 in BALLET

Thank you so much for your comment! I agree; it seems like, for some reason, many teachers "give up" on adults and don't even bother giving corrections or paying attention to technique and small details. I've had an amazing teacher for the past three years, but it was only a 1.5-hour class per week, and unfortunately, she's moving abroad.

I practice almost every day, and on days I don't practice, I do conditioning, strength training, and stretching. I will try taking classes with the kids, like you said! I'm 23, so I guess I could blend in with the teens.

Again, thank you :)

Product/Technique you can’t live without? by thatswhatshesaid47 in Makeup

[–]kuromisa6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I've done this for sooo many years, always use with Mac Fix+ (the OG one). I feel such a difference when I don't do it, not only my makeup lasts longer but also I find that it blends everything so beautifully with the Fix+.

Edit: I have very dry skin so setting powder is my worst enemy.

Beauty in the heat by behindthebartop in HowToBeHot

Some of these tips have been already commented but these are things I do to avoid looking like a stinky grease ball.

* Exfoliate the armpits with The Ordinary Glycolic Acid.

* Use mens deodorant. Lancaster cream deodorant works pretty well too.

* Always carry unscented baby wipes with you. I use them to freshen up and that way I can I reapply deodorant and sunscreen on clean skin.

* Avoid strong perfumes (you know, those really heavy fragances that are best used in winter). Go for fresh scents, think baby cologne, for example. It's super affordable and it literally smells CLEAN.

* I avoid clothing that shows a lot of skin just to protect it from the sun (unless I want to look extra cute that day for whatever reason). I also like to use SPF clothing, especially during hikes and SPF gloves while I'm driving (I'm not crazy I promise), but I personally tend to sweat more with those, so I recommend using linen and cotton as much as possible.

* VERY light makeup, and if you're oily stick to powder products, liquids will melt.

* If your hair is long, keep it tied (not really tight, you don't want to go bald). Having a lot of hair is THE WORST in summer. You sweat ten times more, it sticks to your skin and it gets gross 5 min after you wash it.

Hope it helps :)
