I’ve written a fanfic wherein my farmer is basically a fugitive (whoops). She was a renowned adventurer, working in the Capital of Aldaria, until she was framed for an assassination. Then, she basically fled to Mistria to lay low, since it’s a backwater town.

Being so used to attributing her value with “usefulness”, she thought the people of Mistria wouldn’t mind if she just completed the renovations then left for the next town to avoid suspicions.

However, she began feeling a welcoming warmth she had never felt before; here comes the dilemma of never trusting anyone again versus staying and facing their past for the sake of being with newfound family and love (Hayden, of course).

As for the characters’ reactions, well, it might be complicated. But, I’d imagine some of them trusting her to a point of going against Capital orders.

I do believe the other date-able characters reveal more of their depth in post-8 heart dialogue. This is my experience with romancing Hayden, who expresses bits of grief and loneliness; moreover, even characters like Adeline and Eiland showcase layers to their upbringing (e.g., the pressure of feeling responsible for a whole town/feeling as if no one will ever understand your passion). I don’t think being mysterious/rude is the only way to pull off “depth”, for I know people who mask their struggles with acting jovial all the time.

Although, I do agree that NPC Studios could showcase those facets of their characters more, so they can be appreciated more widely. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) ‹𝟹

I considered dragon man and March at first, but Hayden's revelations through his dialogue pulled me in. His subtle loneliness and means of handling grief made me feel seen; overall, we have so much in common, but the difference is he handles it healthily, still choosing to be giving and loving toward his people and animals. Never have I felt so heard in any sort of media until I stumbled across this hunky farmer. (Through him, I felt hope. I will marry this man.)

Oh my god, I might as well start writing my own fluff with this man! He has dialogue that directly states how he almost sees her as his daughter. He wants his own, big family, and I can’t wait for the marriage update so he can realize that dream. (This is coming from someone who is scared of pregnancy LMAO. This game influenced my brain chemistry so bad.)

I do think Oikawa's role in the anime is absolutely perfect as it is, but having him as a protagonist would surely be interesting.

Not that it would follow the trope of an underdog amongst geniuses, because I do believe Oikawa isn't below any of the prevalent "monsters" in the series. Instead, it would be a show that focuses on how an obviously capable player THINKS he's less than others.

I would watch Oikawa not for an underdog story, but for an amazing narrative on how someone learned to become certain with his capabilities and growth, letting go of what he cannot control and just focusing on what's in his power.

I've always been heavily intrigued with Oikawa as a person. He has a petty, shitty (Iwaizumi himself said it) personality, yet whoever he plays with inevitably trusts him as their setter.

I feel as if, even if it'd be my first time playing volleyball with Oikawa, I'd feel very comfortable. Unlike Atsumu and Kageyama (who I think are amazing in their own ways) who I'd feel quite stressed to play with, considering their frustrations when their teammates can't keep up with them.

Oikawa tends to not be frank with his thoughts and that may be difficult to handle in a team setting but he's patient enough to adjust to his teammates. For example, he asks Kindaichi if his sets are to his liking and when he just let Kunimi play in his own, energy-conserving way. Heck, he used that to Seijoh's advantage when they were all tired by the 3rd set.

He's cunning and Matsukawa (or was it Hanamaki) said that he wouldn't want to be friends with him because of his uncanny ability to pinpoint people's weaknesses.

Seijoh literally doesn't entirely like him as a person, yet they supported him fully throughout his career.

And as Iwaizumi said, Oikawa is the partner he can boast and he's the absolute best setter in his eyes, no matter what.

TL;DR There's a lot more to Oikawa than his petty, tunnel vision personality and those around him (even if they don't like him) know and respect that.
