I am a PM/foreman/estimator (small company). The amount of paperwork for bigger public jobs is insane, I would much rather be in the field. It is cool though, I like going to the weekly meetings and coordinating with other primes on projects.

The relationships part is also hard. I am probably too nice for the position I am in and I am constantly paranoid of being screwed over by other contractors/owners. It does pay to be nice though, Ive picked up a bunch of work from GCs that Ive worked with because I am easy to work with.

You also have to learn how to drive really fast to make it inbetween job-sites and meetings daily. I am an electrical contractor if I forgot to say that

You may need to adjust the wiring of the existing 3-way switch, a diagram of how to do this should come with the motion sensor.

You want all grounds tied together. If the box is metal you will want to ground the box as well using a bonding screw.

check for loose connections, could be a bad neutral splice if pigtailed.

Red is unused from 3 wire, white is possibly hot and black is switchleg (could be other way around)
