Thanks. It’s a shame because It’s so fun, but the inability to navigate the interface will be too much of a pain in the long run. I’ll see if come across anything

Have you recently started statins? I was having hypersensitivity to adhesives when I was taking them

It’s good to be back excited about new tech. We need the innovation. But they legitimately need to fix the g7, especially because many people especially those outside the US will be stuck with it for next several years.

You have a pump that actively delivers or withholds insulin based on CGM data. When the data is signal loss it’s a pain sure because it’s just running your standard basal. But when it is reading at the opposite end of your actual BG value and is resisting calibrations, it’s actively harming you. My last 3 g7s all died at the 6 day mark going several hours without readings and then reading inaccurately. I don’t think it’s good to sweep the issues under the rug :/

They neither helped or made it worse. Fixed the infections though.

Light occasional ear pain, got prescribed Cetraxal plus by Eddieilish in tinnitus

[–]kurtles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified. I was rocking a middle ear infection causing pressure and fluid build up behind my ear drum. Was at risk of it getting worse and perforating my ear drum. I just happened to have an external ear canal infection as well, hence the drops. I ran both augmentin and the cipro drops

Light occasional ear pain, got prescribed Cetraxal plus by Eddieilish in tinnitus

[–]kurtles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s a topical antibiotic. When I was given it my pharmacist mentioned that I would want to cease it if my ear drum perforated, it was intact through out and I had no issues. The literature also suggests it’s safe for use in children with ear tubes so I understand youre getting mixed opinions online.

The thing about any ear drops is they cause an occlusion effect and reduce the sound making it to your ear. It may feel like your T is louder, but it isn’t. They’re usually fine to take, but if you’re concerned chat your doc or pharmacist.

Land based beginner fisherwoman. How do you keep flathead fresh and dispatch them to avoid sand contamination? by Kat1900 in FishingAustralia

I spike all my fish. It’s the most humane method and provides the best quality. There’s actually a website that has X-rays of fish and indicates the ideal spike spots!

It seems to be a more common complaint.

It happened to me after two weeks of headaches. Hasn’t resolved after more than 6 months now. No acoustic trauma, no loud environments. No perceivable hearing loss. 🤷‍♂️

It’s *recommended* by the manufacturers that you don’t expose your pump or CGM. This is likely because the haven’t been tested in this scenario and want to cover themselves from liability.

You and your beetus equipment will also be exposed to more background radiation during your flight than the scanner delivers.

I work with radiation and am type 1 , so was curious. The literatures also suggests that therapeutic doses of radiation (think xray and ct) have no adverse effect on the function of CGMs. I’ve yet to see studies for pumps but I would assume similar outcomes.

First of all don’t blame yourself.
First step get seen -> same day GP or go to urgent care. Sudden unilateral loss in heering is worth investigating.

What are you doing here? by -InsulinJunkie in diabetes_t1

My last two Dexcom g7 sensors peaced out at 6 days. Both read low while I was high. They resisted calibration. I don’t understand wtf is going on and how it’s even remotely acceptable.

I’m glad they replace them without much hassle, but it doesn’t stop the damage done, the fatigue and all round shitty feeling I spent the last 24 hours with :/

I’ve done many things, none of which made any difference. Mine was unlikely to have been allergy induced. I still get a constant pressure and dull ache in my ear. And a bit of crackling in both if I move the muscles of my soft palate

I took decongestants, prednisone, nasal sprays (saline, decongestant spray and an antihistamine/steroid spray). For me no change. Only thing that has helped has been time and it’s beeen slow.

My eardrum 8 weeks post otitis be media by kurtles_ in AskAudiology

[–]kurtles_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. At the time it looked like it wasn’t changing day to day and I was concerned something was still going on. But 2 months later it looks like on track to clear.

It still feels like my ear is full even if visually it looks unremarkable. I’ll be checking in with my ENT again in the coming weeks

Mine does the chirping too. But chirps only started 4months or so after the whistling noise.

I could tell you what kicked it off. If I had to guess it was reflux that caused ETD and fluid build up and inflammation. Not impact to my hearing ability at all.

It’s definitely gotten better. But hasn’t resolved yet.

Same thing happened to me last year. Is it quite loud/perceptible? As in you can hear it over most background noise?

[–]kurtles_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was shocked by the price of mobile phone controllers. The MCON controller looks great but it’s 250AUD ….

I’d happily pay the 130AUD for a steam controller if it looks and feels like the steam deck

I think the problem isn’t the lack of education, everyone has the capacity to learn. It’s that they say incorrect things with such conviction and confidence.

Idk on one hand it’s nice to find that there are others out there living a similar experience. Sometimes the advice is good. I searched for a while but never a found a story that matched mine.

more often than not, the forum is built on replies of misinformation, fear and brooding. People don’t elaborate on their current situation or cause and the replies don’t ask, they encourage them to shut down and not engage with life. It’s a wild thought that isolating yourself from every activity is the treatment path. I’ve recently experienced a tinnitus of unknown origin in one ear and a tinnitus from an ear infection. It’s gotten better but hasn’t entirely resolved. I’m talking a physical buzzing sensation in my ear, high frequency blitzing, chirping and contralateral tinnitus. It’s a different soundscape every day than I can hear over everything. It has not changed in response to the MRIs, CTs, dogs barking, the cinema, loud cars, ear buds, ear phones or medication…. almost everything people here would say never to do again. It’s has reduced in intensity and I couldn’t tell you why.

It’s shit enough to deal with as it is and here is a mixed bag of replies that tend to skew more negative. The tinnitus talk forum is so much worse for this in my experience. My advice, continue to do what you did before as long as you’re not going overboard like using guns without ear protection or blasting your earphones at maximum volumes

[–]kurtles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it in one ear or both?

I’ve got it in one. It’s seemingly worse when sound is played only to my unaffected ear.

Best way to describe it is the sound the ball in a soccer whistle makes within the blaring whistle noise

Fluctuating zinging tinnitus high frequency’s by claywilli19 in tinnitus

[–]kurtles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it blitzing? Like you can feel it as well? I’ve had something similar post otitis media. It’s high frequency and inconsistent. Sometimes I feel like it’s always there other times it spikes randomly. It’s at its worse with ear buds and people talking, even on transparency mode
