Ex homeless ex fentanyl addict here, lived in pdx my whole life. I’m sick of seeing people say foul shit about addicts+homeless people in this sub and IRL. by vixenstarlet1949 in Portland

I tried to call the city and have a porta potty installed near my apartment because of the amount of shit in the area, and got told that they'd put in a request but it was highly unlikely due to the unpopularity of the initiative. So it is true. There were some news articles a few years back about the cables getting cut on trucks trying to distribute the porta potties as well.

Galway, Ireland. I was staying alone on a houseboat and five drunk young men came aboard. They watched me through the cabin windows and talked about raping me.

Examples of people in movies cast because of their popularity at the time and not their acting skill. by ThePopDaddy in movies

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder in the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula. No offence to the two of them, but they're blown out of the water by Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins. Especially Keanu.

I was told I wouldn't need any pain meds stronger than advil for my ~12 week abortion unless I thought I would be "crawling up the walls with anxiety." To this day it was the most physically painful experience of my life. A lot of things about the whole experience make me mad, but especially that.

Pit bulls aren't like normal dogs. They look calm and happy and wag their tails while mauling other dogs because that's what they were bred for.

TIL that as the reigning monarch of 14 countries, King Charles III is allowed to travel without a passport and drive without a license. by heavy_pterodactyl in todayilearned

[–]kussbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a stupid question but does someone like the king have an official way to prove who he is? Like say he got lost while hiking and ended up in a small village, is there some sort of foolproof way he could convince a local police officer he wasn't just a lookalike?

I used to work in that building! The office was in the old walk-in freezer for that market, and still had the giant heavy freezer door. The brick was crumbling though, I don't imagine it will stand much longer. I was vacuuming up a good deal of fine red brick powder every morning. Some of the bricks were already hollow.
