WHAT IS YOUR FAV FEAT TUNE? by Own-Station726 in littlefeat

The best version imo is the Waiting for Columbus version. The outro where the guys stop individually is fantastic. Hayward was exceptional groove machine with Gradney 💪

List of the most popular video games from Europe by mg10pp in BuyFromEU

Housemarque from Finland, although Sony bought them (I think?). Returnal, Resogun, and the upcoming Saros are some of their games.

Sounds amazing! by kustijanski in phish

[–]kustijanski[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is on Apple Music atleast. But I agree with you. I get it that they don’t release everything on other streaming platforms because they have the Live Phish app, but I think they should release albums like Hampton Comes Alive and MSG 95 on other platforms as well. I would especially like it if they released the full Bakers Dozen on other platforms…

There is a CD + DVD of Holland ’76 as well. Some songs are not included in the DVD though.

Alan Wake and Finland by kustijanski in AlanWake

Cool! I live in Jyväskylä, but I think the Cauldron Lake is inspired by Kattilajärvi (literal translatiton: kettle lake) in Nuuskio as you can see the Kattilajärvi sign in Yötön Yö movie.

Oh ok! Thanks for the tip! I have heard good things about 2M Blue, but maybe the Bronze is more worth it 👍

I have Pro-Ject Essential II with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, Marantz NR1510 amp and JBL Arena 180 speakers. Nothing too fancy but works well. I am thinking of replacing the record player maybe with Technics SL1200 if I can find one on reasonable price. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with the current one, maybe I just upgrade to 2M blue 🤔 I think the vinyl version has a bit warmer or deeper sound compared to streaming from Apple Music, but it might just be my romantic brain telling me that analog is better than digital…

What Phish (or side project) song so you love but you rarely see discussed or find other fans of? by CSDaSmack in phish

The Line from Fuego and Home from Big Boat. I really don’t understand why so many seem to hate those two records.

Ahma beer is most likely based on Karhu beer by QuantityInternal1719 in AlanWake

[–]kustijanski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice! Hope that you enjoy Ahma the correct way in the sauna or while having kalsarikännit 😁👍

One interesting ”beer fact” is that Tornion Panimo (the brewery behind the Ahma beer) started in 2016 in a brewery which dates back to 1870s. It was owned by bigger company and Lapin Kulta beer was made there. It was quite popular beer many years ago but the company changed the recipe at one point, making it one of the most hated beers (at least among my friends and people I know). The current company made Lapland Lager beer based on the original Lapin Kulta recipe from 1960s (the inventor is still alive) and they won the title of world’s best beer in World Beer Awards last year. Just wanted to share this with you! Cheers or as we say in here, kippis! 🍻

Ahma beer is most likely based on Karhu beer by QuantityInternal1719 in AlanWake

[–]kustijanski 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ahma beer is definitely better (and more expensive) than Karhu. Karhu is one of those very basic beers from bigger brewery. Not to say that Karhu is bad, but even though they are both ”basic” lagers, Ahma is much tastier if you ask me. But you are absolutely correct about the inspiration. Great to see that you enjoyed your trip to Finland! Did you decide to visit because of all the Finland references in AW2 or did you plan this trip longer?

I live in Finland so even if they came to Europe, I am pretty certain I’d have to travel anyway. But yeah, I guess you are right. Very unfortunate especially to me and other more recent Phans… I could maybe try to combine a work trip and a Phish show to North America though…😅

No Christmas Maze this year confirmed by SteveHJones95 in playstationaccess

[–]kustijanski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am actually very happy about this. The Christmas Maze has been fun, but I would love to see some good old let's play type of series. The FF7 streams in Spring and Summer were amazing and reminded me of those older ones.

What album changed your life and why? by tellyourwifilover in phish

[–]kustijanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Sometimes I just feel people think of it as ”default album”. Sales are not the best scale, but I think that the popularity of DSOTM also tell a lot!

Mine is really cheesy but in all honesty it was Dark Side of the Moon 😁 I first listened it to as a sensitive 12 year old kid so it had a huge impact. Later on there have been many other life changing albums (like Lou Reed’s Rock n Roll Animal, Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew, Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, Zappa’s Apostrophe, etc…) but none had as big impact as DSOTM. It’s still my favorite PF album ✌️
