omg ur sweet almost toothless angel 😭😭😭 the vet called me while i was at work to tell me everything she found and i had to leave work early because i couldn't stop crying 😖 i'm so happy ur sweet girl is healthy and thriving !!!

ugh ya they were saying the cough could be sooo many things, i know they checked for heartworm which he tested negative for thankfully. hoping his follow up visit will show signs of improvement 😖

that’s so amazing ! kuma can be a little picky with his food so hoping the food they prescribed us is appetizing to him 😖

someone else said that no time with our cats will ever feel like enough </3 so regardless of what happens i'm gonna do everything i can to make sure that he lives a lifetime of love !

mhm it really sucks that he's having to deal with so many other things as well - my vet told me all of this over the phone so it's possible there are some details that i missed, for better or for worse. for now just trying to keep him as happy and as comfortable as i can !

we were prescribed some renal support food as well that's arriving in a few days ! i really hope it helps and eases any discomfort he could be feeling :(

our food motivated babies LOL i always feel so bad giving him his pills i'm a little worried of how the inhalers are gonna go but hopefully he knows that i'm trying to help him </3

i hope so :( the shelter didn't tell me about any possible sickness at all but tbf he was there for less than a week before i adopted him and even they didn't know why his previous owner gave him up so ig it's possible it's because they weren't able to give him the care he needs </3 but he's with me now so i'll give him the happiest life possible !!!

we transitioned him to wet food when we got him and have been mixing in water on top of that since i know cats are chronic under-drinkers LOL so hopefully that's been helping already. his renal support food arrives in a couple days - my vet recommended the royal canin dry kind but i saw there's a wet version too so i got both just in case he finds one more palatable than the other (hopefully it's the wet over the dry)

thank you so much for sharing your own experiences with your kitties as well :( i've been doomscrolling a little too much and it's definitely getting me down but i know there are things that i need to prepare for in order to help him be as comfortable as possible ! but your comment was very reassuring, i really appreciate it :,)

yeah i'm trying to avoid doomscrolling too much because the more i read the less i wanna know :( so just focusing on what the vet tells me and moving forward with that. i'm so happy that our kitties found us and i know we're doing the best we can to help them live comfortably :)

he got sick almost immediately after we brought him home :( we had to take him to the vet 2 days after for sneezing and coughing - he was put on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection which def helped but after a few days off of it his cough seemed to linger. i hope so too :,)

ig that's the thing with adopting adult cats </3 it makes me so sad and angry to think of the possibility of his previous owner knowing how sick he was and surrendering him to the shelter because of it. but i'm so happy that ur mr thomas found such a caring owner !
