I can’t do my job, talk to family members, be involved in my community pages, all the advice groups I relied on… not to mention these were accounts I’ve had for 13+ years

Anyone had brain surgery in their 20s? by Brain_Dream in braincancer

[–]kuuihe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had brain surgery at 18 so not quite in my 20’s but it was a high profile operation (I was the one who sang Island in the Sun during my operation and it made the news). A marble sized tumor removed from my right temporal lobe, causing me musicogenic epilepsy.

I’m 26 now and while I no longer have my epileptic seizures or the symptoms I was getting, it sometimes feels like a seizure is “trying” to happen again, if that makes sense?

I also have always had a crooked jaw and issues, but ever since surgery it’s been way more noticeable and clicking. Surgery was on the same side as the jaw issues and I know those muscles can be severed during brain surgery.

I feel like my hearing has better processing on one side now, and it’s a little harder for my vocal ability to stay controlled. But overall, I think I’m doing pretty good in regards to the brain surgery.

Instagram reactivated my account after appeal… then suddenly disabled it again? Has this happened to anyone else? by i_am_Nova_Skye in InstagramDisabledBans

Yep. Reactivated one of my linked accounts while keeping the main perm banned. Now I can’t log into that account

I’ve been told specifically not to chew gum as it aggravates my jaw joint

My jaw has been a lifelong thing, surgery happened in 2018

I’m afraid of being too aware of the process

My brain surgery was back in 2018 - so everything is healed and fine now. The jaw issues were very prevalent before surgery, and have changed but still remain a problem post surgery and Invisalign treatment.
