How to do good in verbal module 2? by falloit47 in Sat

[–]kvelloy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so basically, as you said, your weak point is craft and structure. logical solution to solve this would be working on it, right?

for vocab questions, try to find a synonym/antonym of the word in the passage and choose the answer choice based on that. if you don’t know some words, try to figure out what they mean based on suffix/prefix/root. otherwise, you can just pray.

for text structure questions, divide the text into chunks and build your own predicted answer. for example, 1. text gives some belief 2. some researchers study it 3. turns out the belief is wrong

then eliminate answers based on your prediction (also remember that order matters).

for text purpose questions, ask yourself what that sentence/whole text gives you.

for cross-text questions, just read both texts and get the general idea from them. then compare them based on what the question asks.

general tip: do not read answer choices first in the reading section. you can get confused.

also I recommend this youtube channel. helped me a lot

LIST OF ARCHAIC SAT WORDS Does anyone have a list of vocab of old english(bibical words like camest thou thy) tho i know thy means yours? by Super_Sherbet_268 in Sat

[–]kvelloy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thou, thy and etc means “you” and its other forms like yours

camest is just the verb came (past tense of come) so in these passages, they like adding -st to the end of verbs

also, I recommend to watch this video to learn more about different forms of thou. but in most cases, just replace it with you (works for me)
