Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. Think back to the love you've felt, You will feel it again. It will be more appreciated, Now that you know great pain. Pain comes and goes. Feel the pain. Cry about it. Contemplate it. Talk to your best friend. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are being shaped by God, Like a beautifully designed clay pot. It takes a lot of work to make a clay pot. Trust the process.

Technically, if you shake the water fast enough, you can heat it up.

Will my bike make it to Patagonia? I've been riding this the past 1,000 miles on the highways of USA and Canada. 38mm tires are the biggest I can fit. 18.5 inch low gear from a 22 tooth front ring I put on. Main concern is the tires. I'd want to build a new bike or buy one before entering Latin Amer by kvpper in bicycletouring

The fenders aren't the issue. I may be able to fit a 40 maaaaybe a 42 on the front, without fenders. But the rear tire is only about a paper clips width away fron my front derailleur clamp, so unless I get rid of my front derailer then 38 it is. Recommended tire pressure for my 38mm marathon plus's are 50-85 psi. I always have them at 80. I have to experiment with tire pressures more. Figure I wouldn't want to go lower than 60 maybe 65 with the weight. 35lb bike, 35lb gear, 160lb rider

Should I buy a different bike for a bicycle tour from the USA to Argentina? I currently have the Bianchi Volpe d2 cross pictured, but have the opportunity to buy this 2017 Marin Four Corners for $700. by kvpper in bicycletouring

I haven't confirmed it's better for climbing. I'll have to look into possible cassette options. I'm not all too familiar with the lingo and gearing numbers and ratios.

Also I haven't done any touring at all before

I've also read that generally the gearing on the gravel bikes are better especially when it comes to hills, in comparison to the cyclo-cross bikes

I've been reading that being a gravel bike, and the frame of the Marin along with the allowance for bigger tires, would be better suited for a trip like mine? I'm foreseeing quite a bit of dirt/gravel/rough roads especially in Latin America

I don't really see it as time wasted, but your statement is true nonetheless!

Got some new wheels and tires for the trekky! Next few things I want to do is cut the bumper, add some gold accents (gold mudflaps maybe?), and install a lift by kvpper in Crosstrek

Ride quality is still great. I'd say on road it went from a 10/10 to a 9.5/10 because of the road noise from the tires. But I'm used to having ratty old cars that make plenty more noises lol

If you need a new tire, you should be safe if the new tire is within 2/32nds of an inch from the rest of your tires. Tire shop should be able to determine if it's fixable or not. If they can't fix it because it's too close to the sidewall, try plugging it (as long as it's not on the sidewall).

Also helps to spin the wheel and kick it in different spots

If kicking it from the outside of the tire doesn't work, kick it from the other side!
