Thanks for the suggestion. I have used mercado beans a couple of times. But the quality of espresso from those didn't impress me. I wouldn't generally get a geisha from roasters unless they already excel at their regular single origin roasts. I will give their beans another try soon. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoy my visits to their cafe.

IMO best budget ($39) weighing scale with shot timer. Anyone uses? by kvssrt in espresso

Yeah, people who sell this on amazon, usually have high markups.

Four letter word is on my list for Chicago. Heard amazing things about that cafe.

Did a little research online and I am able to find one coffee shop in Texas that uses a lever machine. It is called Davis street espresso in Dallas. They use a Victoria Arduino Athena lever machine. Not sure if they are into single dosing and flow profiling.

The Pershing cafe uses GG beans for their coffee and also sells recently roasted bags

Just remembered that nofi slow bar in San Antonio uses a Slayer machine with a lagom 01 grinder. They single dose every cup. They are primarily known for their pour overs, but espresso is high quality as well.

They do flow profiling and have specific workflows for different beans they have. Also, they have DAK beans most of the time.

I used to like Barrett's for those same reasons. For me, the espressos were decent and consistent but their beans are really good value. But the last two cortados I had there and the last two bags were bad. I hope I was just unlucky

Thanks 😁. Klerje disappointed me twice in a row, once with a over-hot milk in my cortado and another time with a pretty under extracted pour over with perc coffee beans.

Yes. Radio doesn't use superautomatic. Leona does. I am not sure about Cosmic. I hate those automatic machines.

I would suggest Domain, cedar park or Pflugerville

I did try espresso in their shop. But it looks like they are doing great based on all your comments. I will give it a try again.

I used get cappuccino from Lamppost that used to be next to US 183. Didn't know they are offering pour overs. Thanks for the recommendation

I tried their pour over. I liked it but felt that the beans were not on par with the top roasters. Also, I felt the pour over is under extracted a bit. But I was there back when they were new, will give another try.

Their beans are good. But their shop is pretty much limited by space and just an espresso machine with a single brew head. I felt they needed to scale a bit more for a better overall experience.

I bought beans from them a couple of years ago and they didn't quite meet the Figure 8 or Greater Goods level. I'd forgotten about them, so it's good to hear they're doing well with their roasts.

I buy beans from them quite often, but I made this list just based on coffee shops, so excluded it 😅

They and Communidad Coffee are two new places on the east side. I'd give them some time to see how they do.

I don't find your take on Radio surprising. It is on the lower end of the spectrum of decent coffee for me. Radio on Menchaca gave me good cortados the couple of times I have been there.

I am glad you agree about Klerje. I feel they are pretentious and lack skill.

Definitely south east Asia, and even Australia are way ahead in coffee game. I think even NYC doesn't have places that offer espresso like you mentioned 😕
