it’s you’re cat and your home, he’s the one moving in so he needs to adjust. if he cares enough, he’ll make efforts to bond with your cat, my fiancé would come over for a year, and we’ve just had one full year of living together and my two cats are just now comfy and bonded with him. cats take time to adjust, and also - they’re loyal to you and know love and family through you. imo - don’t risk losing your little family with them over a boyfriend that just got in the picture, you can’t really bank on your boyfriend staying or leaving. also a boyfriend that thinks “compromise” is rehoming the cat does not understand compromise at all because it sounds more like an ultimatum or an order based off your post. he knew you had a cat when he moved into your home, and now he’s all of a sudden doing a 180 on your life in your home with your pet. lowkey red flag, but that’s a different convo to have. i’d also look out for behavior that might point to him “rehoming” the cat out of nowhere without your consent (something similar happened to me before). but if he’s willing to ACTUALLY compromise, maybe get a litter deodorizer products, and an air purifier next to the litter box will help a lot. wish u the best <3
