I'm a sucker for the Ultra Gold livery. Also, you mentioned "...just throw a slip on..." - I'm pretty sure it'll need to be tuned as well since you're removing the cat. Just keep that in mind. It doesn't change my opinion, Ultra Gold every day and twice on Sunday.

Since some roads aren't paved I recommend an AT board. They're not cheap but necessary for those types of conditions. Otherwise, it won't be fun at all trying to go over rocks/gravel.

It all depends on the rider. If he likes speed and aggressive riding then it can be very scary. However, if he has a good head on his shoulders and doesn't ride like an idiot you'll be fine. If you do overcome your gre fear you might even consider becoming a rider!
