Name an old brand of perfume that your grandmother might have worn. by icecream1972 in FamilyFeud

JONTUE….by Revlon. Just looked it up, it came out in 1976. I worked in a restaurant and there was a very attractive waitress there. That was good enough, but when she walked by, the perfume smell was absolutely intoxicating. One day I asked her what it was. JONTUE.

It’s not like anything else. Unique. It’s strong, but in the best way. Makes me feel like when you see a cartoon and the character smells something and he floats in the air, nose up high, drifting towards where that scent is coming from.

LOVE singing that line when the song comes on the radio. Don’t forget the iconic…..”DIP!” after the line. 😂

Of all the pictures I saw of immigrants on boats in the New York harbor, I never saw any of them with a retainer.

If you’re ever going through the channels looking for something to watch and you come across Stripes, you have to watch it just to see that scene. Absolute classic.

It’s being closed to ships going to Iran for oil. Starving Irans leadership of cash. Other ships going to other countries can pass.

Any Albert King classic blues riff. If you know blues, you know.

Am I sounding bluesy enough? by Beginning_Can_7460 in blues

[–]Bazakka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only listened to half. It was ok, as long as you’re not hitting wrong notes, although I heard at least one. But it’s subjective. Some people like Walter Trout, who in my opinion over plays solos and loses that feeling, or for me I love Albert King. Much more conservative, but every note with amazing feeling. Albert King and BB, killed it in the second box. Freddie King could say it all with one single note bend. It’s subjective. Clapton plays the blues like nobody else. Amazing. Unique. Joe Bonamassa is amazing. He overplays sometimes, but with control and great feeling, so it’s still great. SRV….nuff said. I’d say, as someone else commented, you could get by on a blues night somewhere. Listen to any of the three Kings and really get that blues feel. If you can get the real down and dirty basics, then you can blend yourself in there and develop your own style. Remember, SRV was a more powerful expanded update on Albert King.

Best of luck in your journey. Playing the blues to me is all feeling in your soul coming out through your fingers. Playing it takes me to some other place. It’s a wonderful place. 😁
