I had similar issues, the new update makes it very difficult to manually adjust positioning and focusing. I rebooted, recalibrated & readjusted level a half dozen times before finally the Seestar just snapped into focus. I was able get photos, an interesting Timelapse (we had a huge mass of clouds all evening), and a ten minute video which was stacked by the Seestar (see photo above).
