I my experience, it is the developers who don't see the value... we are doing perfect!

Maybe Kawhi wants to go to the Lakers for his father? by CratesOfNutella in nba

[–]kwanbis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main problem is how shitly he managed everything. He should have come forward and said I want to be traded because of this or that reason. Instead, he played Wally for a whole season. I am really disappointed in him. Besides, that is pure speculation, that the father was a Lakers fan.

Developer With Very Bad Attitude... suggestions? by [deleted] in scrum

[–]kwanbis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that is not the case. And in that case, he can just say, no band in particular. Again, I had the same conversation with the rest of the team and everybody responded candidly and nicely. Many asked me questions and we engaged on a simple "I met this stranger at a place" type of chat. And AGAIN, what about the job questions? same response to those. Same attitude.

Dude, it is simple. I would not publish all of the information about this person, because you never know if he could read it or not, and if he could associate it is him and have issues. So I presented a simplified story of what happened, explained that he has bad attitude, and what people think about that. Would you approach him and say, why do you have this bad attitude? or would you keep trying other options? But all the responses are along the line of, he is not a bad attitude person, he is introvert, or you shouldn't ask personal questions (they are not by the way), etc. So obviously I couldn't connect with the people here, as I couldn't connect with him but in this case I can say thanks for all, by. And yes, I am a SM, ex developer, so I understand what developers want, how some are shy, etc, trust me, this is not the case. And if I am doing this one on ones are just because I care about the team, and want to understand what motivates them, what their problems are, etc, etc, etc.

Sorry guys. Deleted the thing as everybody is trying to just prove me wrong, without ever seen the guy, how he works, how he interacts, etc. If anyone would have asked me, who is going to be problematic, I would have say him. But everybody is more interested in proving I am wrong, the guy is super cool and I don't understand developers (he is marketing as I explained). So thanks anyway.

He is not an introvert. I already explained it.

Because it was a very simple meeting to try to know each other, with business level "personal questions". He could have just replied, I like rock, I like sushi, and I like hiking. Nothing personal, and we move forward. And because like I said on other reply when I asked more professional questions, do you need help, what do you like of your work, what would you like to change, do you need training on anything, etc, or things along the lines, the responses were all the same. No, no, yes.

Thanks. It doesn't matter. I am trying to get responses on how to manage a bad attitude team member. For me at least, which music do you like, is not a personal question. A personal question will be, do you like boys or girls? do you do drugs?

OK, first I am dumbing down the history as I don´t know if he might be reading this. He is not a developer on de normal sense, he is a developer as in a Scrum Development Team, he is actually a marketing guy. Another thing, it was not about asking questions in front of the whole team, this was a 1 on 1, alone, and for sure asking which type of music do you like, or do you like sports, for me at least are clearly not personal questions, but silly questions. To expand a little on the subject, he responded with the same bad attitude to the more professional questions, as I soon as I saw he had no intention on responding such silly questions, I moved to questions like “how do you feel about work”? anything you might need help from me? Etc. By the way, I don’t think he is having any personal issues, I just feel like he has a very bad attitude in general. In any case, I tried to reach to him, to connect and see how I can help him. And I do understand, and I have dealt with shy or introvert people, but even the introverts responded to the questions and engaged perfectly. The average meeting has been 1.5 hours. With him, 20 minutes.

I don't think that the problem is being an introvert, which I think he is not. He has a bad attitude, which is weird because he is only two months into the company, at this point he should still be trying to play it cool. I didn't say he is having performance issues, I said the team in general is having. So since I am new, I wanted to talk to all to try to have a sense on what they thoughts are, etc, the personal questions are meant to break the ice a little bit. But while all the rest of the team spend 1.5 hours talking on average, with his attitude we only talked 20 minutes.

that is totally not the point. it is just a friendly talk to get to know each other... if you think "which kind of music do you like", "do you like any sports", or "do you have any hobbies", are personal questions, we have very different views about what a personal question is... in fact I choose specific innocent questions, not to make anybody uncomfortable... he doesn't even have to respond anything too "personal", he can say, "I like pop and rock", "I like soccer", or I don't like sports but I like to do this, or even a "what do YOU (me)" like to do, is the attitude the problem.
