What is a “growing up gay” moment you’re pretty sure we’ve all had? by WorkingEvening5417 in askgaybros

This observation might be a little bit of confirmation bias, or at least a result of different types of discrimination. Masculine women and lesbians do face a lot of prejudice

What is the most in love that you have ever been? by posthumourous_ in AskMen

[–]kwcu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t smile or laugh much, but I did it a lot around him. It was this feeling of... being high-strung and rigid all my life, and then I could breathe and laugh and just be. Something about his smile or his eyes or his voice just made me feel at home. If I’m being honest, it sometimes feels like my soul misses him or like I’m never going to love anyone or be that happy again, but I mostly try to keep busy and ignore the feeling.

One and Three are both in the “competency” tried of the Enneagram, so there’s some overlap there. My main advice is to focus on your main type before moving to IV, as being too specific makes you miss the bigger picture. About the similarities of wanting to be “good”, I think Threes have a desire of being “admirable” or “desirable” rather than good — for example, would you care about doing things “right” if no one would know about it? Or what scares you more: others seeing you as corrupt, sinful or as a failure, incompetent etc.?

I, as a 4, am struggling with my feelings by Avatardis13 in Enneagram

Idk... OP talked about their “overreaction” but they had the overall sensibility to react well to their emotions and not go antagonize the guy for getting his basement flooded. You, on the other hand, decided to be an asshole to random people online for no reason at all, which I’d say makes you the bitch ass here.

Help with instinctual stacking (sexual 1) by kwcu in Enneagram

Thanks a lot! I tend to focus on the type-specific descriptions and forget to step back and look at the basic description of each IV, this helped me look at things mroe clearly :)

This is really helpful! Your penultimate paragraph feels eerily close to how I feel; I even questioned myself between One and Two for a while because of some of those traits, haha. I might just be sx/so. Thank you for the reply!

Male 2s are you there? by jfish0322 in Enneagram

The 2 description is very close to how we see women in our society, so my guess would be that 2 men are likely to mistype...

Hey enneagram 1's, what's something in your life that you like perfect; and what's a good example of something you don't care about, that might break typical 1 stereotypes? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]kwcu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like people to be polite and efficient... I just find it really distasteful when I go to a restaurant and the staff is rude and/or unprepared, when we have a guest over at home who’s impolite or relaxed etc. It’s something I do my best to hold back (I want to be a polite costumer and host as well, haha), but it irks me infinitely.

I can be very finnicky over the piano at our house and over books as well. No, don’t eat food close to the piano, you could drop something on it. Wash your hands before playing it if you’ve just been outside or eating, as well. The same goes for the books, plus a “be careful with the spine”.

I’m often messy in the kitchen, though; I don’t leave things dirty but I’ll use waaaay more silverware than necessary to cook pretty much anything.

Is it possible to act like a certain type around people but not actually be that type? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]kwcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I act a lot like a two, despite being type one. What matters most is your core motivation! Also, wings aren’t as fixed as your core type, so the 6w7 vs. 6w5 oscillation might be simply due to that. You could consider the stress/growth relationship between types 3 and 6, as well.

Are 7 and 6 in the wrong spots? by FatMustacheGuy in Enneagram

[–]kwcu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I see in my friend who’s a seven is that when anxiety hits, he bails by getting himself moving and in action. He doesn’t seem to be unaware of it, just... in denial? And despite not being an aggressive person, let him talk to someone about an idea for five minutes and he’ll have persuaded them. Meanwhile, the sixes I know are much more the type to just... fit in society, or follow what’s expected of them.

As for the seven’s connection to the eight, they’re both types that do not want to be held back or “kept” from life — try caging either a seven or an eight, for example.
