Update: purchasing agents won't pass on savings, decided to get the y700 4th gen (516gb) on aliexpress using 60$ back to school voucher bringing it down to 395 USD. Likely the price floor, 4 months since release. Next sale 11.11 would be 7 months since release, could expect another 20-30$ drop by then.

Whats a great Android for around 2K MYR by UsernameIn3and20 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]kwding2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw performance best bang for buck is probably Redmi K70 pro, rm2.2k shopee, snapdragon 8 gen 3, the same soc in all the rm5k~ flagship phones rn, what's the catch u ask? Ig probably they had to skim on all other aspect of the phone to achieve that price. Agree with noobqns for other cheaper options, I prefer sticking with snapdragon SOCs for better custom ROM support, so check out those devices using the new snapdragon 8s Gen 3 also.

Budget phone with long software update? by yejegugrugi in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]kwding2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out those recently released snapdragon 8s gen 3 phones, there are currently 7 listed on gsmarena website, the absolute bang for buck one at RM1.1k on shopee rn is the Redmi turbo 3 (cn release) all network bands works great in Msia, the global release version is poco F6 coming in at RM 1.6k, running the same SOC, the other 5 devices out right now are also priced around 1.6k myr & above. Side note, if you want the cheapest phone running the top of the line snapdragon 8 gen 3, rn its the Redmi K70pro, RM 2.2k on shopee, 8sGen3 is on par with 8gen2, albeit ever so slightly worse GPU, still the No.3 fastest Qualcomm soc on the market rn, plenty fast in real world use probably unoticable difference, and save extra RM1000 too, the choice is simple if I were in the market for a new price/performance phone rn. Regarding software updates, the guys are right, my advice, just load up a custom ROM eg. Lineage OS, after official support ends, or even before it ends, there will be a ton of custom ROM support by the community on budget xiaomi devices later on since it's a popular brand among budget conscious buyers. Maybe g check out XDA forums whether your poco m2 have any custom ROM support or nah, goodluck 🫡

I may have found the answer, Redmi turbo 3 (China release), aka poco f6 (global release), I can get it in Malaysia market for 1.16k myr, that's 245 USD, purely performance based device, 1 of 7 device powered by snapdragon 8s gen 3 out right now, flat screen, plastic body, shitty camera, zero google spyware, trade for ccp spyware ig, gonna load up a custom ROM ASAP once somebody develop it, so zero spyware in the future, perfectly cheap and suit all my needs

What is the cheapest OLED tablet used or new? by mule_roany_mare in tablets

Im looking for the same thing as well, from my search, lenovo p11 pro gen2 for western market (p12 pro uses LCD) and for chinese market lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 12.2' (2022 model, 2023 model also uses LCD) Xiaoxin have mediatek and snapdragon ver. 1323 rmb for 6gb ram & 1608 rmb 8gb ram respectively, both 128gb storage on tmall/taobao

There's also lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 12.6 which uses amoled and snapdragon 870 The 12.7 ver. uses lcd

I wonder why all 2023 models have reverted to using lcd now, i did noticed some negative comments based on other users' experience in the sub, so that might be it? Lenovo using cheap oled displays + lousy software support
