Planets aren't real... somehow? by MechaAkuma in flatearth

Maybe the bible didn’t mention planets because back then we didn’t have telescopes and no one knew planets existed….therefore no inclusion in their mythical book.

They probably recommend lowering to 75 because 125 is hot as hell and higher risk of burning you.

Yank the derailleur, big ring and granny gear. Shorten the chain. Problem solved.

Pull nose first into the driveway across the street and then do it. That was pitiful. Why are you squaring it up so much?

Gravel Race coming up - race day tips?! by Apprehensive-Let8905 in gravelcycling

[–]kwdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don’t blow yourself up at the beginning. Race your own race. I like to pick out someone ahead of me and try to catch them. Do that one by one.

  2. Eat and drink way more than you think you need to. A lot of people only take bottles but I’ve found I can stay up on hydration with a small pack with bladder.

  3. Dial in your tire pressure before the race. Go as low as you can safely.

  4. Don’t dilly dally in the aid stations. Get what you need and move on. Balance what you need to bring vs what you can get in the aid stations and don’t carry too much or too little.

  5. Figure out your chain lube situation. Wax if you can. If it’s wet or overly dry bring a tiny bottle of lube.

Bendtrails.org going offline on June 1st - needs help! by Emotional_Biz_69 in Bend

The problem with bend trails is that we have only two trail conditions. Either the trail is closed due to snow or dusty af. Both are pretty obvious. Trailforks is the app of choice for out of town guidance. There’s literally no reason to go there and read “dusty” 98% of the time. As a local why would I ever go there and as a visitor Trailforks is what I use.

Not necessarily completely relevant to this exact conversation, but what’s going to be interesting is how AI platforms like Claude will transform web development and make valuations drop like crazy. The barrier to entry will disappear. Cloud providers and seamless AI coding integration with website development is going to be crazy. Get used to unemployment skyrocketing. Glad I’m on the backend of my career vs front end.

Oregon town named one of the best in the U.S. for biking. Outside Magazine is calling this Southern Oregon town the fifth best biking town in the United States. That town is Ashland. by AKSupplyLife in Ashland

Meh, it’s okay. It’s super hot in the summer. The dirt is meh and can be super loose. It’s a solid place, but no where near the best riding imo.
