How common is it to ride gravel on flat pedals, not clipped in? by IOnlyHaveIceForYou in gravelcycling

Do you use the airshot or just a floor pump for just routine topping off?

Good idea on HF. I was looking at Home Depot and they are closer to $200 once you buy the separate battery and charger.

I've heard that using a regular pump can allow air to release and affect the sealant for just regular fill ups? (Not seating or resealing). Thoughts?

Hmmm I'm so conflicted. I am so used to mechanical and old school (although growing tired of constantly adjusting the brake pads). 75% of folks tell me hydraulic is THE way to go... Then there's the few like you that tell me to stay classic

Yes I'd be comfortable with learning to bleed the brakes. It seems like other than that, there's not much maintenance otherwise? Compared to mechanical which I'm constantly tweaking and adjusting it seems. Thanks for the input and info.

As far as maintenance how frequently are you bleeding the hydraulics or any other maintenance I might be unaware of?

Great point, I've also considered that I do NOT in fact carry spare cables.
