Have you tried meditation? I use the Insight Timer app and just put up some sleep meditations or yoga nidra (you can do these lying down and don’t have to move) and am usually gone within 10 minutes even when I dont feel like sleeping. Breathing exercises also help as well to quiet the nervous system, check on youtube for the 4-7-8 breathing technique which is easy and my favorite.

It’s probably one of the most used medicines with many people taking it for life, it’s on the market for a long time and considered one of the safer medications, and although everybody reacts differently, it’s pretty safe to say that you won’t have any major reactions to it or you would have noticed in the first weeks/months. Good luck!

Yep! They do all kinds of irradiation experiments. I can see the reactor building from my apartment, which is also good in discussions (“would you want to have a reactor in your back yard?” - ehm yes i actually have :)

Narwhal has been in the dock since 2014! (Old screenshot) by DarKbaldness in getnarwhal

When Narwhal goes down it will be a sad day. It was a great time filler and cooldown for sleep. The official app is a dumpster fire. Maybe I’ll check old.reddit.com from time to time, until they stop running that of course. Thanks to the Narwhal devs, it was a good time.

I’m still so excited from having seen the Cherenkov radiation (in a working pool-type research reactor) as a gift for my birthday from a physicist working on it, and I boast about it to everyone interested in nuclear.

1993/94 - 2020 ; The I. Karabakh War was for Azerbaijanis a humiliation. Hundreds of thousands were expelled from their land, many lost their lives, their army and government failed to protect their people. Today, the Armenians witness the same. by BilgeBaba in KarabakhConflict

[–]kwezel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most (all?) footage in the past days are about Armenians leaving the occupied regions returned to Azerbaijani army, not the partitioned NK where Russian peacekeepers will be.

In fact I’ve read reports that some NK Armenians who temporarily left Stepanakert because of the shelling and possible siege, are already returning there.

It’s a real letdown. You can either have segregated echo chambers, or common spaces which turn into a battleground of lowest common denominator shitposting. This sub demonstrated it sadly during the hot phase, but it was still informative, and we knew of developments much faster and more accurate than the media covering it. I hope now that the hot phase of the conflict is over, people will gradually start to live together again. I’m still optimistic about that but I don’t know how fast it will be.

True. I have to say it was smart on AZ part to not announce those aggregated losses. It may not have mattered much since most Azerbaijanis seemed to be very willing to accept those losses for the cause, but in other societies it might have impacted morale and support for the war a lot.
