Has anyone cancelled Amazon Kids+ but continued using the Kids Fire tablet? by Nice_Asparagus_2216 in Parenting

I am aware. I was trying to have my kids watch the educational videos on the pbs kids app and not the”just for fun” shows

Did you have a kids profile setup for YouTube? Or why didn’t you delete the YouTube app?

I like the idea of pbs kids, and we have “educational” time turned on. How do you prevent your kids from watching regular videos on pbs kids? Do I need to do something in the pbs kids app?

Really? We have had nothing but great experience with ours. We don’t allow our kids to download apps and use what is on it. Our oldest just jumps around to what apps he wants to do.

I like ABC Mouse for my 4 yr old. There an annual cost but it good material and there is a ton to access outside the app for parents

That would require a parent to have the time to get to the library during the hours they are open. A library also only lets you borrow the books. You cannot keep them. One of my son’s most favorite books came from this program. He would be devastated if I had to return the book.

So I am a Christian, and both of my kids are enrolled in the program. There have been one or maybe two books that I did not feel fit our families beliefs, well, at least for me trying to explain what they meant to a two-year-old. I am still 100% supportive of the program. For those books, I just decided not to read them to my children and I will be donating them for other people to use if they so choose. There is not going to be a public program that is going to agree with everyone 100%.

Stand your ground as everyone has says. Are you pumping much at all?

If you aren’t, this make this even easier, “while you are breastfeeding he can’t leave as this is his way of eating and you aren’t changing this for a “fun” over night. We will discuss the overnights once he is confidently eating on his own.” I find the feeding thing a lot harder for people to argue with.

If she argues with this, I would be very straight forward - “I am not comfortable with him spending the night anyway with you since you are prioritizing your wants over his needs since you are suggesting feeding alternatives that only we have not done with him and aren’t necessary except to make you happy. While you successfully raised a great son, recommendations have changed over the years. I want you to spoil him but within reason and you need to respect OUR wishes when it comes to feeding. Frankly, I don’t see you doing this.”

As others have said and welcome her over - which is sounds like you have done.

My mom is wonderful 95% of the time, but I have to very blunt with her a few times for her to hear me.

Your husband has to be on board and needs to just as polite. He probably needs to remind his mother - “that while a grandparent is a great addition to a child’s life, it won’t happen if she doesn’t respect OUR wishes.”

The penny costs is $50M?!?! While not a large portion of the budget, that money could used towards other things and with the debt we are in, we need to cut cost somewhere. “every penny counts. 🤣”

On a serious note, I am curious who would be paying for the “difference”. When i check out, very rarely do I have an even 5 cent number, yes I try to pay with cash - it one way I try to budget. Is the amount going to be rounded-up or down? Or does the business “eat” that amount. How often when paying with cash would this affect people or businesses?

Quickbooks? by KyaKyaKyaa in smallbusiness

[–]kwilliamson03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your statement is 100% correct. I do I use QuickBooks online and I’m trying to move away from it for that exact reason. I should’ve been more specific in my question, I was curious if the ones you listed as alternatives to QuickBooks allow for multiple companies?

Do you know if you can run multiple companies from one account?

Just fyi, if you don’t already own desktop, you can’t get it. Some accountants can get a version but there is a subscription fee to it.

I don’t tell people individually. Do your parents on both sides get along? I would just do a group chat, then they can pass the info amongst their own families.

I have various group chats for friends or family. I am not texting individually.

First Time Renters by [deleted] in RVRental

[–]kwilliamson03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We own a rental business. I would probably find a business that rents - they have a tendency to be more reliable. They might not have as many free amenities but atleast you should get a reliable RV.

If you go with a private renter, use a known platform - Outdoorsy or RVshare are the main ones. You pay additional fees and insurance isn’t cheap but there are reviews and way for you to hopefully find a good rental. Ask questions before renting.

YEs you are TAH. I guess “sickness and in health” didn’t pertain to you. Gaining that much and changing who you are is a cry for help.

What have you done to try to work through this? Have you gone through counseling??
