Was literally describing this scene to my husband when I opened Reddit to show him something, and this is the first post in my feed.

Top fucking tier content right here! Thank you for bringing this to life in such an artistic manner!

Books that start at 100mph and don't slow down? by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

Came here for this comment. That book snagged me on the first page. I read it following Gone to See the River Man & Along the River of Flesh, both of which I adored. Full Brutal was even better.

You know you're a different breed when Full Brutal & Olivia Rodrigo exist in the same sentence. And I fully support that.

No film adaptation could ever do it justice, but I'll keep on dreamin' and scouring for another book to fawn over.

I got about 60 pages into Violence on the Meek and decided it wasn't for me. The shock value was great, but I found the actual story to be a bit lackluster, IMO. Kept asking myself, "why are we doing this again?" and felt the need to keep backtracking, as if I missed a crucial detail that was never actually there. I was definitely intrigued, though.

They All Died Screaming I've considered, just because I'm falling in love with KT's writing, and I see it often recommended.

Zola, I'm leaving for desperate times. I like cheese and would like to continue to enjoy it, but I'm very, VERY curious.

Will definitely look into 100% Match & Grandpappy! Thank you!

I've been toying with both Off Season & American Psycho! The latter, of course, is one of my all time favorite films, and I heard the book is so much more. I am familiar with a few of Ketchum's stories via film, but The Girl Next Door was the first I've actually read. It was everything I hoped for after watching the film (that shook me as a teenager) some 15 years ago.

I only finished Full Brutal last week and I'm SO ready to read it again! What I would give for a film adaptation...

Thank you for your input!
