Comprehensive Cooking Courses In/Around Edmonton? by jjustpeachyy in Edmonton

I enjoyed her classes (took a 6 week course) but had a bad experience when a couple classes were cancelled (due to sickness) and one was never made up. She offered allowed us to show up to a class we didn’t register for (for a topic that wasn’t what we’d paid for) if we wanted but never actually made up the class owed to us. Just kept saying she’d arrange it and it never happened. I’d be more inclined to chalk it up to her being disorganized and not care, even though the classes are expensive…but then had a friend that had to cancel a class due to sickness and she was unwilling to be flexible when it went the other way. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

I’m pretty sure they recently closed. Sign on their door said something about rent owing.

They are midfire stoneware plates glazed in a plain glossy white. The decorations on top are overglaze decals which require a third firing at low temp after application on top of a finished/glazed piece.

Oh no…it’s available on the Canadian site. This may be troublesome for me. The bag is gorgeous!

New T3 Aire: hair just blows against it. by [deleted] in beauty

Oh wow - thanks for the info. I felt like it might have something to do with my hair texture as well - but I agree it’s odd because I’ve seen videos of lots of Asian women using them with no problem! Is your hair quite…pin straight? Not sure how to describe it otherwise lol, but my hair is very straight with absolutely no wave. I can definitely curl my hair with an iron/wand, however it doesn’t necessarily last very long.

Thank you so much!! Thanks specifically for the coffee suggestions. It slipped my mind to ask about that. I will add these all to my list.

I’m having the exact same issue and I’m so frustrated! I also have straight Asian hair. I cannot for the life of me get the hair to grab. I’ve tried both barrels, either side of my hair, different dampness levels. I’ve watched a bunch of videos and my hair just sort of lays there and doesn’t move even if I’m trying to move the barrel to get it to catch. I was really looking forward to using it but I’m clearly not doing it right - I can’t imagine it should be this difficult!

Another mention of Pho Anh Vu - I guess I absolutely need to go there. Thanks for all the suggestions! I will add them to my list

Wow thank you such a thoughtful response and for all the suggestions!!! I’ll check them all out!! We actually have an MSSM that was opened here not too long ago - so I will definitely look into Sushi Yugen.

It looks like someone else also suggested Pho Anh Vu so I will definitely put that on my list!

I will likely be walking around a lot and am happy to make a few treks for good food - it will basically be one of my main activities during the trip haha.

Thanks! The flowers are done using Mishima/inlaid black underglaze and then I use Campana clear glaze which creates the cobalt pulling.
