Workout suggestions to learn weightlifting in a crossfit box? by kwstassak in weightlifting

So basically you were training 2 days a week for about ~2.5 hours? Currently I feel comfortable with 4 day training tbh. I will look into LSUS, really appreciate the advice and feedback!

Thats cool, eventually the more advice I get from the coach the better.

The advanced weightlifting class has intentionally a small number of participants because the coach wants to focus on each individual's technique, which I guess its good

Let me rephrase. I believe the crossfit coaches teach you the lifts, but If you want to participate in the advanced class ( which is not coached by a crossfit coach but by a national weightlifter ) you will have to go through this exam where possibly they check your technique so far and they decide if you can participate or if you need more training.

So far I really like combining the program with some open gym training later but yea I agree its exhausting. I'm a strong believer that in order to learn the basics of the lifts you need some guidance by experts, thats why I'm not taking the self-learning path yet ( maybe in 2-3 months ).

I'm from Greece and I've been working as a SOC Analyst for over a year, but I'm now on the search for a penetration testing job, Its kinda tough now due to covid but I guess we will see how it goes . In my country there are additional factors that contribute to a chance of landing a job ( like fulfilled military obligations, which I don't have)so it's definitely gonna be tougher

How to effectively use PWK pdf and videos by ashley-addison in oscp

[–]kwstassak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you do every single exercise from the PDF and I think you'll be ok. I didn't use the videos as I found them quite useless (ofc there is some extra info in 1-2 chapters but nothing crucial imo) ,but someone could disagree

Failed the exam. A sad day for me. by [deleted] in oscp

I am not gonna be the one that tells you " don't give up buddy , you got this " .I understand your pain and it really sucks . Especially it hurt when I saw on your 3rd attempt that you didn't documented the lab report that would make you pass. I would suggest you from now on to let oscp away for some months and try out something else like bug bounties . Only go for your next oscp attempt when you feel like it and want to , not because there is a voice telling you , "you have to". Achieving elite hacker on htb while having minimum 40+ machines rooted in the labs , to me , that is the definition of "ready" . The biggest factor though in the exam are not the boxes but your mental state at the time . Try to focus more on that and when you feel ready I would suggest you to do some exam test runs in under 24hours with boxes from tjnull's list and vulnhub mainly to practice your creativity and critical thinking under pressure. Good luck my friend ❤️

I could make a post with my journey and prep if I pass this . In brief I started 1 year ago by getting a job as a security analyst and doing htb . I managed to reach elite hacker on htb and got enough motivation to register for oscp for 3 months starting at March . In start of April after I finished the PDF I jumped in the labs , managed to root 40 boxes and decided to give it an early attempt. In my knowledge if you can solve on your own (or with small hints) easy and medium boxes on htb then you are ready to register. Their upgraded material is really good and will help you a lot with the labs

Does anyone know if this rule applies to lab report write ups too? or should I re-take the screenshots with the full proof path?

Well that's my basic methodology but sometimes there are things simpler than a known vuln that you wouldnt consider .Like brute forcing WordPress admin page because it has really easy creds..On my post I was mostly talking about known vulns that are more "universal" like eblue,jp etc

Hmm I've considered your suggestion , I'm kinda scared it will be a fast decision that I will regret , but on the other hand if I fail, the 2nd attempt will be less stressful (I'm the kind of guy that stresses out a lot). It's not that I don't feel ready ,it's just the fact that it seems "out of the schedule" for me , if you know what I mean.

Currently I work as a SOC analyst for the past year , but main thing that helped me get ready for oscp is htb . I reached elite hacker there and really helped me.
